Introducing Robert E. Bush: From High School to Hell and Back from Medal of Honor: Stories of Courage.
Follow the show: Medal of Honor: Stories of Courage
Robert E. Bush is one of the youngest recipients of the Medal of Honor. At only 18, Bob found himself at the Battle of Okinawa, the bloodiest and fiercest battle of World War II’s Pacific theater. But Bob wasn’t the only teenager at that battle. Both the Japanese and US military had young soldiers and medics in dangerous – and lethal – situations at the frontlines. Bob’s story is about what it means to fight when you are still so young. How it shapes the people who survive. And what their legacy is to their country and to future generations.
Special thanks to the Congressional Medal of Honor Society.

Introducing How Are Telehealth, Apps, and Wearable Devices Innovating Healthcare? from Health Discovered.
Follow the show: Health Discovered
When we think of receiving health care, often what comes to mind may be sitting in an exam room, being in a hospital, or visiting a pharmacy. But what about when we receive healthcare virtually? How do telehealth appointments, wearable devices, and health apps impact our access to care and shift how healthcare is provided in this day and age? In this episode, we spoke to Aditi U. Joshi, MD, digital health strategist and emergency medicine physician, and João Bocas, CEO at Digital Salutem, about emerging healthcare tech, how technology can bridge the gap between advancement in healthcare and human connection, and what people can do with healthcare tech to dramatically improve their health. Additionally, we sat down with Jason Saucier to hear his powerful story on how his Apple Watch discovered his atrial fibrillation and how he was positively impacted by his wearable device.

Introducing Building Community: One Spoon at a Time with Activist Jen Weaver from Our Skin: A Personal Discovery Podcast.
Follow the show: Our Skin: A Personal Discovery Podcast
When Jen Weaver was diagnosed with psoriasis in 2017 (after five years handling rheumatoid arthritis), she was 36 years old and had three busy kids. Her plaques were very visible–she said they covered her “from head to toe”--and very painful. Psoriasis meant a step into a world where people noticed her auto-immune condition for the first time, and the reaction was far from comforting. So Jen found her people, and now runs a community and resource bank called “My Spoonie Sisters” (Why spoons? Listen to find out!). In our step into history, we trace the origins of the stigma against psoriasis and the key figures in dispelling that stigma. History, and Jen, show us that education busts stigma.
