We come to the final week of our discussions of the book Change Your World by John Maxwell and Rob Hoskins. We have made our way through eight episodes covering the first eight chapters, and today we cover the final chapter of the book, "It's Your Turn to Change Your World."
In Chapter 9, Maxwell & Hoskins review the first eight chapters, showing us how they were broken up into four phases, each containing two chapters. Then, they point to the future, offering us the chance to figure out what our best options are for beginning to make some kind of transformational change in our world. They talk about us lighting out on our own to do that or joining them in their endeavors to do that. Either way, we're bound to find ourselves in an outstanding journey toward changing our world and helping others (and ourselves) along the way.
Come back next week as I finish up this series by talking about another book I just finished that also had a lot of powerful ideas and inspiration to take steps to change our world.
I also plan on telling you all about my exciting new mission and project that I have been thinking about doing for the last eight months or so and that the book, Change Your World, inspired me to get going and start doing it. I will also be asking you to consider joining me and helping me out on this mission that I believe will impact thousands of kids around the country. I can't wait to share it with you!

Our new background music, starting with Episode 300, is "Pulse of Time - Corporate Rock" by TunePocket.
Our background music for the first 5 years of the podcast was "Dance in the Sun" by Krisztian Vass.
A couple of months ago we started a series based on a theme from a book I finished reading a couple of weeks before that. That book was showing me signs that were telling me it was time to act on something that I was considering doing. The title of the book is Change Your World by John Maxwell and Rob Hoskins.
I originally figured that I would do the first week's episode on the entire book and then move on to a new theme. However, I started doing what Maxwell has suggested in other books - taking notes and highlighting important passages and quotes in books. I have so many great quotes that I highlighted while I was reading it that I started transferring to a document, but I realized there is no way I can do the ideas and quotes in the book justice in one episode. So this is going to be a 10-part series on quotes in the book - one for each chapter and then a final episode to wrap it up.
This week we move to Chapter 8 - "Let's Keep Talking." A couple of weeks ago, they talked about Transformation Tables in chapter 6. This week they talk about Transformation Conversations in this chapter. So many good quotes in here and so many good ideas on the power of communicating well when it comes to changing your world.

This week we move to Chapter 7 - "What Gets Done Gets Measured." Notice they have switched the fairly famous Peter Drucker quote around for the title of the chapter. You'll hear why in the episode. Some really good ideas in here about the power of making sure you track and measure the transformational concepts you are trying to achieve.

This week we move to Chapter 6 - "Transformation Happens One Table at a Time." This is based on a very cool concept that Maxwell and Hoskins have used a lot in their organizations called Transformation Tables. You'll hear about what those are and how they could help you with your own growth and the growth of your teams.

I am so excited to be doing this series, and I know you're going to love it. This book has the potential to be the most life-changing book you will read. I know it is starting to work that way on me. I HIGHLY recommend you get the book Change Your World. You will be so glad you did.

My apologies to those of you who tried listening to today's show and got last week's episode. The problem has been fixed, and the right episode is now playing!
Last week we started a series that will be based on a theme from a book I finished reading two weeks ago. That book was showing me signs that were telling me it was time to act on something that I was considering doing. The title of the book is Change Your World. It is by John Maxwell, the man who I did a 6-month series of quotes by last year, along with Rob Hoskins, the founder and director of OneHope.
I originally figured that I would do last week's episode on the entire book and then move on to a new theme this week. However, I started doing what Maxwell has suggested in other books - taking notes and highlighting important passages and quotes in books. I have so many great quotes that I highlighted while I was reading it that I started transferring to a document that I realized there is no way I can do the ideas and quotes in the book justice in one episode. So this is going to be a 10-part series on quotes in the book - one for each chapter and then a final episode to wrap it up. Last week, our first episode was "We Can't Wait for Change."
This week we move to Chapter 2 - "Be a Catalyst for Change." This one is a more individual-focused episode because so many of the quotes speak directly to you, telling you that you need to be the one to create the change you seek.
I am so excited to be doing this series, and I know you're going to love it. This book has the potential to be the most life-changing book you will read. I know it is starting to work that way on me. I HIGHLY recommend you get the book, Change Your World, by John Maxwell & Rob Hoskins. You will be so glad you did.

I told you last week in the "Reading the Signs" episode that this week we would move to a theme based on a book I was reading that was showing me signs that were telling me it was time to act on something that I was considering doing. I just finished the book this morning, and it is going to change my world. It better because the title of the book is Change Your World. It is by non other than John Maxwell, the man who I did a 6-month series of quotes by last year, along with Rob Hoskins, the founder and director of OneHope.
I figured last week that I would do today's episode on the book and then move on to a new theme next week. However, I started doing what Maxwell has suggested in other books - take notes and highlight important passages and quotes in books. Our theme this week is "Reading the Signs."
Do you ever have things happen to you that make you pause and ask, "Wait a minute. Is this a sign that I'm receiving that I'm supposed to pay attention to and then act on?"
That is exactly what this episode is about.
I had this happen to me last week, and I knew that I A) had to do something about it, and B) had to make it our theme of the week! In fact, next week's episode and possibly the week after that will deal with the sign(s) that I received and where they are leading me.
I have 3 quotes that I discuss in today's episode that deal with the concept of signs and reading them.
