We have to draw from the good times to make it through the bad times. In our text, the famine had endured for a long time. People were desperate. The prophet declared that within 24 hours, the famine would be over. God was about to break the drought. First He used the word through the prophet Elijah. Outside the city, there were four leapers. They said, “why sit we here until we die?” When they stood up, heaven rejoiced. God amplified the sound of their footsteps, and the enemy thought they were being overrun. The four men found an empty camp and plenty of food. They soon realized that they needed to tell the people in the city about it. Our church is in revival.
