In our text, Jesus was with the disciple celebrating the Passover feast. As an act of service, Jesus began to wash the feet of each disciple. When Jesus got to Peter, protested because he knew that he should be washing Jesus’ feet. Jesus rebukes him and tells him that if he would not allow Him to wash his feet there would be no relationship. Peter then declares that he wants more. It is possible to have the wrong attitude about the right thing. The same Peter that asks for more in this scene, denied Jesus several chapters later. Peter had the right intention, but the wrong attitude. When Jesus corrects him, Peter quickly changed his attitude and declares that if washing his feet was required, then he wanted to have his head and hands washed to be fully involved. The right attitude will get you to where you need to be with God. Attitude is everything.
