🏈 Rams Draft a QB… Sound Familiar?

Schefter breaks down the Rams taking Ty Simpson and compares it directly to the Packers drafting Jordan Love:

👉 A win-now team drafting a future quarterback

His analogy:

👉 It’s like buying insurance you don’t think you need — until you do

The Packers questioned it at the time

Eventually proved right

But possibly sacrificed a Super Bowl run in the process

👀 Sean McVay’s Reaction Explained

Schefter offers insight into why McVay looked uncomfortable:

He was trying not to disrespect Matthew Stafford

The team went out of its way to notify Stafford and Stetson Bennett

It’s about balancing future planning with current leadership

🔄 Draft Night = Trade Night

The first round featured 8 trades, and Schefter explains:

Most weren’t massive deals

Teams were simply manipulating the board

Even division rivals are willing to work together

🧠 Teams That Won the Draft

From Schefter’s perspective:

Raiders stood out

Cowboys had a strong showing

Browns also impressed

🔥 Still Big Names Available

Even after the draft, the league isn’t done:

Odell Beckham Jr.

DeAndre Hopkins

Stefon Diggs

Juwan Jennings

👉 Free agency still has storylines left

⏳ NFL Calendar Slowing Down

Schefter notes:

The league is entering a quieter period

But it’s never fully quiet

Expect more moves leading into minicamps

🔄 Strategy to Watch

Schefter helps frame the key questions:

Will the Packers stay patient or get aggressive?

Are they comfortable with their current roster?

Could they explore trades depending on how the board falls?

A major name just got connected to the Packers — and it could signal a huge shift in philosophy.

In this segment of Jen, Gabe & Chewy, Adam Schefter discusses the situation surrounding Dexter Lawrence and specifically points to the Green Bay Packers as a team to watch.

🚨 The Key Line from Schefter

Schefter makes it clear:

👉 Keep an eye on the Packers in connection to Dexter Lawrence

That alone turns this from speculation into something real worth tracking.

🧠 Why Dexter Lawrence Matters

One of the top interior defensive linemen in the NFL

A true game-wrecker in the middle

Instantly upgrades any defense

For the Packers:

👉 This would be a massive addition to their front

📊 Why the Packers Fit

From the conversation:

The Packers have the flexibility to make a move

They are a team that could realistically get involved

It would represent a more aggressive approach than usual

💰 The Reality Check

Of course, a deal like this isn’t simple:

Big contract implications

Significant trade compensation required

Long-term roster decisions impacted

🔄 What This Would Mean

If the Packers actually make this move:

👉 It signals a shift

From patient roster building

To a more aggressive, win-now mindset
