Grief & Trauma Expert & Founder Of 'Sisters Speak Up Society' Katherine Barner Specializes In Equipping Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse.

Anu Verma interviews Katherine Barner who is a Grief & Trauma Expert, Award-Winning Author, and Licensed Psychotherapist and she specializes in equipping Black women survivors of childhood sexual abuse. She is also specialized in working with individuals recovering from significant grief & loss, with the skills to pursue and achieve mental, emotional and spiritual health leading to more productive and peaceful lives.

She has appeared on a number of popular radio and podcast broadcasts. Her ultimate goal is for survivors to know they do not have to live in the shadows of abuse. Katherine is founder of Sisters Speak Up Society, a membership community for abuse survivors designed to provide inspiration, encouragement, support and accountability for their journey toward healing and living. She earned her BA in Psychology from Spelman College and her M.Ed. in Counseling from the University of North Texas. She is a certified ICISF crisis responder, Clinical Trauma Specialist, and trained EMDR practitioner.

As the author of ‘God Help Me, I’m Grieving: Finding Healing After Loss’ which won a 2018 Christian Literary Award, she is also a contributor to Today’s Purpose Woman magazine. In addition, she is previous host of the Sister Survivors Podcast where she brought light to the issues of sexual abuse and sexual assault.
