In the first part of this unbelievable true story, we introduced the Texas 7—seven dangerous men with a history of violent crimes and a bold escape plan. On December 13th, 2000, they broke free from a maximum-security prison in a daring, meticulously executed escape. With the authorities scrambling in the immediate aftermath, a massive manhunt ensued.
In the first few days after their breakout, they evaded capture, robbed stores, and despite the massive resources deployed to track them down, hid in plain sight. But by December 19th, just six days after their escape, their violent journey took a darker turn with the murder of a police officer—a crime that deeply unsettled the authorities but did not bring their capture. Instead, it would take another month before their successful run came to an end thanks to an unassuming RV park owner.
