Writer, director, doctor and co-creator of the TV series The Resident - Roshan Sethi MD - joins the show! Dr. Sethi was nice enough to answer our many questions about consulting on medical shows like Black Box, being a staff writer on Code Black and what it’s like to have a film in the Sundance Film Festival.

He also reveals how The Resident was actually inspired by the movie Training Day and originally intended as a darker series for Showtime. Then, he tells us the books he read growing up that inspired him to write and how he balances being a practicing doctor with his TV and film career.

Dr. Steve Rad — a double board certified Obstetrician Gynecologist with sub-specialty training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine / Perinatology —joins the show! We talk with Dr. Rad about detailed ultrasounds, how fetal surgery is performed and why he fell in love with obstetrics. He also tells us what it was like watching his wife go through her own high-risk pregnancy while carrying twins and how that opened his eyes and made him a better doctor.
