Groundless (A Justified Podcast)

Time for the "Karen Sisco" crossover episode... oops, I mean, Assistant Director Goodall episode.

Join Groundless for a look at "Cut Ties" S03E02 of Justified. On this week's show, we: discuss the excitement of returning to the theater to see Tyrese go to space, find out where we can see Asst. Director Goodall with her shirt off, try to avoid getting canceled in a new segment, lament the overall quality of this episode, and really dive deep on how disturbing the police abuse in this episode is - and what a departure it is from the rest of the show.

Back in two weeks with a look at "Harlan Roulette" - until then, check us out on the socials @groundlesspod or @groundlesspodcast, e-mail us your thoughts, suggestions, and corrections at [email protected], and don't forget to subscribe, rate, and review. Tell your friends and family as well!

Finally, right? After much delay in the editing booth we present Groundless's (probably still too long) look at Jackie Brown. Join us for this extra-stuffed episode to reminisce about music in the nineties, get a law minute on the 4th amendment, discuss the finer (and lower) points of DeNiro's work-for-any-paycheck recent career and compare it with an older actress's would-kill-for-a-paycheck late career, learn how amazing the timing of the music in this movie is, and just generally bask in the greatness of Q and Elmore's masterpiece.

We cut about 30 minutes out of this podcast, which is the first time we've made significant cuts. If you're interested in an uncut version, let us know and maybe we can release it. Don't forget to rate, review, and subscribe. Catch us on socials @groundlesspodcast or @groundlesspod. E-mail us at [email protected]. We'll be back on June 13 with a look at Season 3, Episode 2 of Justified!

Back with Season 3! Join Groundless for a look at Season 3, Episode 1 of Justified - The Gunfighter.

In this episode we: discuss how late the Season 2 special is in getting posted, realize we haven't seen any of the Oscar bait movies in theaters when this episode aired, try to figure out why this episode is titled "The Gunfighter" when it doesn't feature a gunfight, pick up on the Season 3 theme of being able to escape the consequences of your actions, and tally up 5 bodies for the first episode of a very bloody season.

Check us out on the socials @groundlesspodcast or @groundlesspod. Don't forget to subscribe and review. Tell your friends!

We are considering doing a "mailbag" episode - if you're interested send your question/comment to our e-mail [email protected] or DM us on Twitter @groundlesspod.

It was already in the glass...

It's time to explore season two, episode thirteen of Justified - Bloody Harlan. Widely thought to be the single best episode of Justifed, we wrap up the Bennett's story this week.

Join Groundless as we: discuss history repeating itself with Raylan and Boyd, but also in Raylan's encounter with Loretta; analyze whether Winona was maybe right(!); attempt to count the number of bodies dropped in this episode; try to figure out what kind of car Messer drives; and celebrate Loretta and Mags turning a trope on its head, and driving the plot at the same time!

That's it for Season 2 - back in a few weeks with a movie from the Elmore Leonard universe. Watch our Twitter for news about which movie we've chosen. Don't forget to subscribe, review, and tell your friends and family! Check us out on social media - @groundlesspod and @groundlesspodcast. E-mail us: [email protected]. Join Groundless this week for a look at S02E12 of Justified, "Reckoning."

Matt from The Post Credit Podcast (www.thepostcreditpodcast.com) joins us to: understand why Chris associates Deshaun Watson with Coming to America, learn that we were celebration a wedding and a funeral the week this episode aired, somehow get from bacon, cured with cinnamon, to Elvis in one short step, discuss whether Raylan would react any differently if it was Arlo dead instead of Helen, and say goodbye to Aunt Helen. RIP

Time for another episode in this fantastic season two! This week, Groundless watches Season Two, Episode 11 - Full Commitment.

Join us to discuss: what makes our guest star this week somewhat unique, whether Winona owns any casual clothing or only tight dresses and miniskirts, why Ava seems to care less about violence and murder than hookers, whether the Dolly Parton or Whitney version was better, why giving successful actors a blank check for their projects doesn't always work, and whether it's plausible that both Tim and Rachel would miss the car running outside.

Join us this week for a look at Season 2, Episode 10 of Justified, "Debts and Accounts"

This week, Chris and Randy: Discuss what this episode and Glengarry Glen Ross have in common, segue beautifully via Natalie Portman - and then Katy Perry (you'd think we rehearsed this), analyze the illustrious career of Nic Cage, compare Boyd's selling technique to Winona's, and learn to separate the Art from the artist (literally and figuratively).

Check us out on social media @groundlesspodcast or @groundlesspod, and e-mail us at [email protected]. See you in a couple of weeks for E11!

It's time for a "Whoop-De-Doo" at the Bennett estate - and that means it's time to dance!

Join us this week for a look at Season 2 Episode 9 of Justified, "Brother's Keeper." In this edition of the Groundless podcast your hosts: discuss whether Harlan residents are even aware of Gregory Hines, notice Coover's wardrobe choices honoring his hero, discover why rich white people in Orange County are LESS civilized than our favorite Harlan county miscreants, analyze Carol's relentless pursuit of Raylan's hog, and pay tribute to one who left us too soon.

Hit us up at [email protected] with comments, corrections, and other nonsense. Check us out on Twitter @groundlesspod. Don't forget to subscribe and leave us a 5 star review. Thanks for listening!

We are back! Happy new year everyone! Welcome to 2021.

Join us this week as we discuss Season 2, Episode 8 of Justified, "The Spoil." This week on Groundless: We discuss Raylan being me-too'd by Carol Johnson's shameless sexual aggression, appreciate Linda Ronstadt's vocals, examine the size of Mags Bennett's feet, debate whether Carol Johnson even has a pet cat (and whether it's actually named 'Cat'), continue to gain reinforcement for our 'Winona is the Worst' operating theory, and get yet another data point supporting the Ava Crowder Hair Threat Corollary.

Check us out on socials @groundlesspodcast or @groundlesspod, e-mail us: [email protected]. Don't forget to subscribe and leave a 5 star review. And tell your friends, for goodness sake.

On this episode of Groundless - Raylan and Winona star in "Givens's Two" - the worst reverse heist in the history of man.

Join us as we try to avoid talking about the heist element, but love the rest of this episode. In this episode of Groundless we discuss our own personal experiences with large sums of cash and counterfeiting, lament how terrible and manipulative Winona is (and posit that maybe she's happy that this mess could affect Raylan's career), discuss what the VP of Black Pike coal looks like without clothes on (and where you can find it), appreciate the realism of Boyd's JC Penney suit, wonder whether Gary will ever make a reasonable decision, remember Geraldo and Al Capone's vault, and learn about Rule 403 in our "Law Minute."

Contact us with any questions, corrections, errors, or suggestions at [email protected]. Also - we are looking for someone to help us market/promote the podcast on social media - so if you have experience email us! We want to hear your stories about counterfeit money and Justified more generally - send us an e-mail or tweet and we'll talk about your story on the podcast.

We are taking a short hiatus for the holidays - we'll be back the week of January 10 to strap in for the rocket ride to the end of the season with the Bennett clan! Until then, happy holidays and happy new year!
