Hi everyone! This season is packed with "gbas gbos" - not sure how to explain the latter to my non Nigerian listeners. Let's just say we are debunking myths in hair care as we reach for healthy hair. We will explore common hair problems such as hair fall, dandruff and split ends, and see if these hair care practices we are avoiding, could actually help mitigate these.
Even though heat styling gets a bad reputation, we will talk about how heat styling might not be the enemy, and how you can grow long healthy hair with heat styling. In this episode, we show how heat styling can reduce single strand knots, smooth the cuticle and increase length retention.
It is important to know that wet hair is hair in its most fragile state. So wet hair CAN lead to decreased length retention through promotion of single strand knots, cuticle lifting, tangling and breakage
As usual, we will be debunking these hair care myths with scientific evidence
Heat styling is not for everyone so take what you need and skip the rest. That said, if you have coily hair and have struggled with retaining length and you need a hair growth tip, try this and let me know.
When embarking on heat styling as a way of retaining length in our hair growth journey, it is important to use heat responsibly. Use of a heat protectant is important.
Consider investing in heat tools that use lower temperatures to achieve smoother hair. For example, Dyson hair dryers and Rev Air are great. So come back next week as we do a deep dive. Don't forget to subscribe/follow this podcast!
