Posting on Facebook or Instagram can help parents get to know your home daycare, but social media alone isn’t a complete childcare marketing strategy.
In this episode of the Grow Your Daycare Podcast, I talk about where social media actually fits into your home daycare marketing and why posting consistently doesn’t always lead to more daycare inquiries or enrollments.
You’ll learn why local visibility matters, how social media can help build trust with families, and why your marketing should make it easy for parents to find you when they’re actively searching for childcare.
If you’re trying to market your home daycare and fill your available childcare spots, you don’t need to be everywhere online. You need a simple strategy you can actually maintain.

Posting on Facebook 3 times a week is great, but posting alone is not a childcare marketing strategy. It’s one piece of a bigger visibility system.
1. Know WHO you’re speaking to
“Parents” is too broad. Speak directly to the families you want to enroll: toddlers, preschoolers, after-school families, or families in specific neighborhoods.
2. Build trust, not just a feed
Show your educators, activities, reviews, classrooms, values, community involvement, and what makes your center different.
3. Think beyond Facebook
Parents are also searching Google, checking reviews, visiting your website, and asking for recommendations. Everything should work together.
4. Reuse your best content
One testimonial can become a post, Reel, Google post, ad, Story, and retargeting creative. You don’t always need more content. You need your content to work harder.
5. Don’t forget follow-up
Ads and marketing create opportunities. They don’t guarantee enrollment.
Your system should move families through:
Visibility → Inquiry → Response → Conversation → Tour → Follow-Up → Enrollment

Many childcare providers feel stuck when it comes to social media.
You open Facebook or Instagram and immediately wonder:
“What am I supposed to post today?”
Then you see another childcare program with polished graphics, professional videos, and perfectly curated content, and suddenly your own posts don’t feel good enough.
So you wait.
The problem is that perfection rarely leads to enrollment.
Consistency does.
In this episode of the Grow Your Daycare Podcast, Christina Rizakos shares why the best childcare social media content is not perfect. It’s content that helps local families get to know your program, trust your team, and feel confident reaching out.
You’ll learn why parents use social media as part of their childcare search, what types of content build trust, and how simple, authentic posts often outperform highly produced content.
Parents are not looking for perfect content.
They are looking for reassurance.
They want to know:
A simple classroom photo can build trust.
A teacher spotlight can build trust.
A parent testimonial can build trust.
A behind-the-scenes video can build trust.
A post about how you help children adjust during drop-off can build trust.
Social media should help parents feel something before asking them to do something.
Before you ask them to book a tour, help them feel safe.
Before you ask them to enroll, help them understand your value.
Before you tell them you have openings, show them why your program is worth choosing.
Some of the most effective content for childcare programs includes:
These posts do not need to be fancy.
They simply need to be clear, helpful, and consistent.
Give parents a glimpse into your daily routine and schedule.
Introduce a staff member and share what they love about working with children.
Provide reassurance for families navigating separation anxiety.
Show how children learn through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences.
Answer common questions and reduce uncertainty for prospective families.
