After you buy the house & move into it, you discover all the little things that are wrong with it. (door knobs, crusty locks, gloggy toilets)

Getting a new computer means trying to get everything transferred over from the old to the new one without breaking everything.

cashiers who say wacky things to be funny - that will be 312 Cents. That will be 2.35 and ½.

Entire parking lot available, why pen me in?

If you want my parking spot, you need to give me the room to get out.
THE TURNAROUND: This week’s Positive:

Darrell: With a week of time without podcasts to prep for, and work to go to, had time to fix the little things wrong with the house.

Darrell: Family members pooled together & got us a new Mac. (resulting in rewiring the setup yet again)

Hammond: Watched movies both in the theater and at home - Unbroken, Into the Woods - UHF, Jobs

Hammond: lots of good feedback on this show recently - It’s really nice to see and make me feel good.

Comcast said they’d be out Tues between 10-12. No show. I call and hold for an hour to find out nothing was scheduled. Scheduled another for Wed.

Garbage co said they’d start pickup Tues & deliver containers. No such luck.
What’s got your goat?

Hammond:

Lego Friends. I love and hate these things. I love that they have them, but hate that they are not cool. I want Lego friends Space Battle set. Not in pastels. Put girl figures in the castle and other sets. Don’t reinforce dumb stereotypes.

I paid for two day shipping. after 4 days still not delivered.

Darrell: Moved into new house with podcast room.

Hammond: I built a model- for the first time in ages I took the time to build model.

"Meteoric rise" makes no sense. It's like saying "flaccid boner".

How is living under constant threat of layoffs good for morale - always happens to me for the holidays.

The holidays are often a time of disappointment & let down, having gotten people wrong gifts.

Honda sold us a maintenance contract with promise that we’d never have to pay for maintenance ever again. Upon taking car in, found out it’s oil changes only.

I was peed on!

as adults we still want the holidays to to magical, but because we have obligations and responsibilities a lot of the really cool things get talked about before buying them. kinda takes some the wonder out of it.

House buying and selling - waiting. For what? Everything’s instant in today’s world.

Speech recognition phone menus.

DST make dark evenings even worse. The time change should make it lighter when it gets dark earlier.

Hammond:

I live in a location that has bad weather. every year. Why is it that people forget how to drive in it every year.

trying to sell something - trusting, shipping, etc.

uncertainty. Not knowing. I like having information. I like feeling ahead of the game. Work, BtP, family.

Darrell: Phaser done & gone. Must now make a whole bunch.
Hammond: as much as I have complained - I do like the holidays. I like setting up trees, I like setting up lights, playing games, etc

Cold & flu season. Sometimes my cure works, sometimes it doesn’t, and sometimes it reduces the duration greatly.

Kleenexes that are packed so tightly in the box they can’t be pulled out without shredding & becoming totally useless.

Hammond:

The phrase "the stress of the holidays" - this is all self imposed stress.

Dumb cartoon that promote stupid stereotypes. Girls need to be rescued...etc.

The nuance of health is gone- the illusion of giving a shit is gone.
THE TURNAROUND: This week’s Positive:

Darrell: The hum/whine some people have been hearing has been fixed. Undid the mixer’s USB cable and went analog only.

Grumpiness means nothing unless you’re going to do something about it.
Hammond: Done with interviews for the year! Have had 75 shows launch so far. Feel like the work is starting to pay off.

tech pushing- example - TV’s people had justed adapting HD, when they pushed 3d, now curves (?), 4K, 5K (Apple) - Slow down it might be more successful.

Darrell: A 24” Lego Enterprise fell off Jeremy’s ceiling & broke. I finally fixed it.

Hammond: Had fun with my family doing Halloween decorations. made cool wraths.

Drew Snyder: Just got around to grumpy cast. Thank you for your grump about The Final Score. I have been sad about them hanging it up since they announced and I teared up. It is exactly my thoughts. Those three had something special in gaming podcasts. It meant a lot to hear other people talk about it.
