When the two begin naming their future children on their first date, Jill becomes concerned that they're moving too fast. When Al proposes to Ilene on an episode of Tool Time, Tim agrees - and employs some clever editing to keep Al from foolishly rushing in.

  • Aisle See You In My Dreams
It’s Al’s 35th birthday, and he’s spending it with the Taylors. When he makes a wish by blowing out the candles on his cake, he reveals that he wished for a wife. Jill immediately knows of someone she wants to set him up with and puts the wheels into motion. Upon first meeting this woman, named Irene, Al finds that they have so much in common, that he decides to skip the courtship and delve right into long-term commitment. On the next day’s episode of Tool Time, he proposes to her on camera, however Tim, at the behest of Jill trying to undo her handy work, convinces him that he should slow things down, and re-dubs the proposal with an invitation to dinner, and some awful Godzilla jokes.
Meanwhile, Brad and Randy pull a prank on Mark to make him think that Isiah Thomas has responded to his fan letters, and will visit over the weekend for a hearty dinner of corn on the cob.

    Episode Synopsis:

When Jill finds out her sister is pregnant with a girl, she finds herself longing to have a daughter of her own. Tim is outright opposed to the idea, as he thinks that three rambunctious boys is more than enough kids. His refusal to budge on the issue angers Jill - but with some help from Wilson, Tim realizes her desire for a daughter is rooted in a need to build a legacy, and he opens up to the idea, only for Jill to tell him that she doesn't really want another kid after all.

Meanwhile, Brad and Randy tell Mark that Jill had initially wanted a girl when he was conceived, and that she always bakes with him because she wants him to be a girl too. Jill sets Mark straight by telling him she loves him just as much as he loved the turtle they got him when he really wanted a puppy.

  • Maybe, Baby
In the season three premiere, Jill learns that her sister Carol is about to give birth to a baby girl and begins to imagine what life would be like with a girl, as they imagined Mark might be before they learned they were having a boy. When she brings this up to Tim, he immediately shuts the conversation down, leading to an argument. After some intuitive wisdom from Wilson, Tim realizes that he has the three boys to live out his legacy, while Jill doesn’t have any kids to pass on her interests. Now open to having the discussion, Jill confesses that’s all she wanted as her life with three boys and the blossoming career is fulfilling enough.
Meanwhile, Brad and Randy use the information that Mark was intended to be a girl to torment him.

  • Season Two Super Spectacular! (Part I)
Well, Gruntheads, it’s been a crazy, wild, and long season two, but here we are at the end! Crack open the bubbly, we’re celebrating the last season of Grunt Work and Home Improvement with the first part of our end-of-the-season Super Spectacular!
In this episode we brainstorm plans for a Home Improvement theme park ride, mention the “More Power!” Thor moment from Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War, Truman reveals his current line-up of XCOM soldiers which he has made in the image of your favorite characters from Home Improvement, and discuss what it would be like to watch an entire episode of Tool Time.
We also cover the end-of-the-season Grunt Count, go over some production tidbits from season two, and have a very robust, albeit problematic final visit to Pam’s Corner where we have a Star and Star Struck book club meeting.

Cue up your old VCRs, hit Top Menu on your DVD remotes, pop in your laserdiscs, and open up your favorite streaming service. It’s time for our first ever Audio Commentary!
As voted by you, our Twitter Gruntheads, we are covering Roomie for Improvement, in which Tim must temporarily stay with Al while Mark recovers from the chickenpox. In fact, the episode tied in votes with Haunting of Taylor House, but won the electoral vote by having more grunts.
This is our first experiment with this sort of conceptual episode, so please leave us some feedback!
