- GSMC Baseball Podcast Episode 710: NCAA Baseball Conference TournamentsKevin starts the episode by breaking down the top 21 in the RPI for NCAA Baseball. The National Champion has been ranked in the top 21 of the RPI on selection Sunday for 12 straight years. So you can narrow down your bracket winner to one of these 21 teams. Kevin then breaks down the conference tournaments thus far. The ACC breaks out their tournament into a "group play" style of tournament. The SEC and Big 12 play a two bracket, double elimination style. The Big Ten and Pac 12 are a straight forward top 8 double elimination tournament. Kevin wraps up the show playing "Buy or Sell" when it comes to team and individual starts across MLB. Kevin is buying that the Twins can continue their hot start, and the Blue Jays will bounce back. - GSMC Baseball Podcast Episode 706: No-No Sir, Mr. Hunter GreenePaddy open's today's show by covering the Cincinnati Reds, and many may wonder why. Well, the Reds played the Pittsburg Pirates on Sunday (5/15) and Hunter Greene threw 7 1/3 innings of no-hit baseball. Unfortunately for the 22-year-old phenom, the Reds would go on to lose this game even without giving up any hits. Paddy breaks down how this happens and then talks about some of the issues going on with umpires. To be more specific the "ump show" that people have become accustomed to seeing because a few umpires do like to make some moments bigger. One of the biggest issues with umpires is the fact that they're human and humans make mistakes. Paddy takes a look at how umpiring has changed since 2008. Kevin has never held back his disdain for missed calls or Angel Hernandez, but as a whole Umpires have improved in their accuracy of pitches called correctly dramatically over the past 15 years.
