  • SlothBoogie Guestmix #384 - Tigerbalm
Tigerbalm's music production is a kaleidoscope of global influences; ranging from deep tribal sounds to disco-driven dance floor grooves. She makes movement-inspiring dance music, combining electronic elements and organic instrumentation, stemming at large from African & Latin American music. Never more so evident than on her LP, International Love Affair.
Tigerbalm has now invited a collection of electronic producers to deliver 12 unique remixes of the LP. The new remix versions take influences and tastes from across the globe, and to mark it's release Rose has provided us with a beautifully vibrant mix for the SB series.

  • SlothBoogie Guestmix #383 - Orlando Voorn
He is one of the first Dutch techno producers/musicians to establish a vital connection between Detroit and Amsterdam in the early 90ʼs. Orlando Voorn has long been recognized as one of the Netherlandʼs most original and ingenious techno producers in the world of electronic dance music. Voorn began DJing at the early age of 12 years old and later went on to win his first scratch competition at Amsterdam “Club Flora Palace”. Amazingly Voorn did this by borrowing records from his competitor.
We now have the pleasure of welcoming a true house hero into the mix series for your listening pleasure.
"It's all about selecting and fine-tuning correctly. Intonation is a must!"

  • SlothBoogie Guestmix #382 - Sound Support
Sound Support, made up of Lars Dales & Lorenz Rhode, released their first two EP son Prins Thomas’ Internasjonal, then appeared on House of Disco, Let’s Play House and Permanent Vacation. Now arriving on Will Saul’s Aus Music imprint, the duo have delivered an EP spanning House, Italo, Electro and beyond, showcasing their unique ability to craft fun and well-considered dance music. To help showcase this release, they've stepped in to provide us with a stunning guest mix.
"We made this mix in the studio together and we had a blast finding a bit more house oriented selection. Our AUS and Toy Tonics releases just dropped and they’re both more house than our regular stuff, so our heads are in that space. We’ve tried to make it fun, not too lighthearted, and finished with a bang (3 of our own tracks back to back)."

  • SlothBoogie Guestmix #381 - Radio Guesthouse
Mark Broadbent aka Radio Guesthouse, is one half of the Ibiza based tag team Dj duo, The Brothers Grim. Playing regularly at venues on and off the island of Ibiza, with a more ‘Balearic’ leaning whilst not always playing ‘Balearic’ selections. First in last to leave. Dividing opinions since 1969.
"...making a Balearic themed mix without it sounding cliche or cheesy outside of its traditional setting - i.e poolside or seaside - isn’t that easy. I didn’t want to go down the traditional Silver Back route by using tracks that had been specifically made to sound ‘Balearic’ whilst finding tracks that played next to each other give that energy without being ‘Balearic’ standards. Sounds confusing but I think I’ve managed to put something nice together for you."
Time to drift off and dream...

  • SlothBoogie Guestmix #379 - Awanto3
'A tiny travel through time and space, electronic riddim, bass and house. Sneak preview start & end-shots from the forthcoming album Party Volume 2 on Rushhour'
Pinning down Steven van Hulle aka Awanto 3 is not an easy task. It is not something one should do to anyone anyway, but in Steven’s case, it’s just downright impossible.
Steven is what you might call a true ‘release beast’ and not just of music that is. Innovating things is what he thrives on, which resulted in the release of books and music, the start of interesting collaborations, him diving into the world of multi-media and even opening up a shop.
Awanto3 (Rednose Distrikt) returns to Rush Hour with "Party". Featuring Jos De Haas (New Cool Collective) on percussion and Stefan Schmid (Zuco 103) on the keys. In all good record stores from today.

  • SlothBoogie Guestmix #378 - Tiger & Woods
Moving home can be difficult, but when you find your forever home, the step over that threshold becomes invigorating. Never more apparent than here in our latest contribution to the SB guest mix series, from none other than personal heroes, Tiger & Woods.
"This is recorded at our new studio, B.K.S. Studio which is our definitive home. It took us one year to complete the construction work and we finally have our own spaceship. The studio features two production rooms and one room for mixes, podcasts and live recordings in general. So we're very happy to deliver mixes from this special place, it's our pride."
Tiger & Woods is a dj/producer duo from Italy formed by Marco Passarani and Valerio Del Prete.
Marco has been a central figure in the Italian electronic scene since 1993, with his multiple roles as dj, producer and distributor for many years, joining the dots between the local underground scene and the global one. He was also one of the key studio tutor of the Redbull Music Academy for more than 15 years.
And talking about the Academy, that’s where he started working on the Tiger & Woods project with Valerio Del Prete, a young talented dj and producer from Rome from the local club scene. Valerio started his career djing in Rome clubs, showing off his passion for funk and soul as well as house music. The combination of their elements created the sound of Tiger & Woods, a constant search for a perfect slicing of old samples mixed up with repetitive grooves, adapting old ideas to the contemporary dance floor.

  • SlothBoogie Guestmix #377 -Aldonna
As a DJ/Producer and Founder of event/mix series Re-Leaf, Aldonna has rightfully marked her position as one of the most exciting talents to come out of Australia in recent times. She’s held down a pulsating presence on the Australian club circuit for almost a decade, as well as having her productions rapidly pile up plays internationally.
@semi-delicious boss @demiriquisimo launches his new sub-label, A Lifetime On The Hips, with a VA from five up-and-coming and established artists. Aldonna lands on HIPS001 with 'Inner Elation'. Rhythmic percussion, shamanic vocals, acidic womps and sharp stabs characterise a truly progressive bomb.
Welcome to the weekend folks x

  • SlothBoogie Guestmix #376 - Mr West
    https://www.westival.wales/
Joe Worley. Founder of independent music and arts festival, Westival. Comfortable going in any direction, you will find him spinning Disco, House, and other Balearic sounds, to Garage, Jungle and Trance, depending on the setting/time of day. His sets are always of an eclectic nature, twisting and turning, keeping the audience on their toes. Living by the slogan ‘if it’s good, it’s good’, gives Mr West the freedom behind the decks to explore many genres rather than being fixated by one sound or style. From DJ’ing at the festival and other club events around the UK, he has had the opportunity to support artists such as O’flynn, Peach, Dr Banana, Alec Falconer, Dan Shake amongst others.
"This mix was recorded as an ode to Westival. I pictured sounds I’d be likely to hear over the weekend, most likely at the Garden stage, an outdoor setting next to the bar that has a fun upbeat nature throughout the day and night. Imagining the crowd throwing shapes at the front, and others indulging from the many sofas dotted around the tent. The mix starts off with some of my favourite South African bits, then onto many variations of House; Italo, 90’s, Hip, Garage, Soulful, it covers the lot. I had loads of fun putting this selection together, and if you enjoyed the tunes, then grab yourself a ticket for Westival as you’re guaranteed to hear a bag of this throughout the weekend!"
