GURU Talkin Sports

The story of Marshawn Kneeland is just tragic. This week we heard about his situation and it's just another reminder that life is too short. The crew and staff of this podcast sends our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and teammates with the Dallas Cowboys. The GURU also thanks everyone for the birthday wishes and shouts. With the beginning of the College Basketball season, the GURU has four players to watch this season. Also, the NFL Confidence Picks Of The Week. RIP Dick Cheney, Mel Bridgeman, and June Lockhart. We will be back next week, with Episode 293. Enjoy the rest of your Sports Weekend.

What a classic World Series game, what a way to end the season with two key home runs by Miguel Rojas and Wil Smith gave the Los Angeles Dodgers their first back to back world championship. The 2025 baseball season will always be remembered for this classic game seven. Yamamoto, just pitched in game six, came back to pitch three innings in game seven. He won three games and was awarded the series MVP. The Dodgers win reminded me of the Arizona Diamondbacks win in 2001, the Toronto win in 1993, and the greatest World Series game six in 1975 when Carlton Fisk's dramatic home run. This was one Hell Of A Week! That story will make you laugh. Thanks for listening and enjoy the rest of your Sports Weekend. We will be back next week with Episode 292.

Were you shocked by the news of sports and gambling this week in the NBA? I'm sure that this isn't a surprise. The long history of gambling in sports isn't anything new. The Mob has and will always have a hand in sports. Chancey Billups, Terry Roizer, and Damon Jones were arrested this week, in a on-going investigation by the NBA and the FBI. This will go on until the end of time. I'm not shocked at all. The World Series finally got started this week between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays. The series is even, after the Dodgers beat the Jays in Toronto, 5-1. The series heads to Los Angeles for the next three games. Thanks for listening and enjoy the rest of your Sports Weekend. We will be back next week with Episode 291.

The GURU and his new friends were at Top Golf ⛳ for a FAL meet in the Philadelphia area. JP, Steve, Jason and Dan had a great time with some laughs and some very bad golf swings by the GURU. Thank you guys for a great conversation and time. The Los Angeles Dodgers are World Series bound, thanks to the outstanding play by Shohei Ohtani. Three home runs are amazing, but the pitch in the same game is truly unbelievable. Don't forget, the NBA returns this week. The OKC Thunder will start the season as the defending World Champs.
Thanks for listening to this episode. We will be back next week with Episode 290. Enjoy the rest of your Sports Weekend and don't forget the Jags and Rams kick off this week's games. DUUUUUVAL!!!!

Congrats to Becky Hammond and the Las Vegas Aces, for their third title in the past five years. Thanks for listening and enjoy the rest of your Sports Weekend. We will be back next week with Episode 289, unless the Jags pull off another spectacular win. Episode 288 was the first ever On the road, with the GURU. Thank again. RIP Diane Keaton and Sister Jean Schmidt.

For the first time, this special episode is coming to you from the cozy confines of my truck. I'm in Baltimore right now, doing a special salute to the Jacksonville Jaguars as they won a hard fought stunner over the Kansas City Chiefs. The Jaguars are now 4-1, and they share the lead with the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC SOUTH. It was a very impressive, eye-opening win for a team that is on the rise upwards. Thanks for this first-time episode, On the road with THE GURU OF SPORTS! We will see you back this weekend with Episode 288 of the GURU TALKIN SPORTS podcast.

We asked the question last week, WHEN WILL PENN STATE WIN A BIG GAME? This week we have our answer, NEVER! An embarrassing lost for the Nittany Lions on the road, playing the winless UCLA Bruins. UCLA is considered the worst team in power four conferences, and was a overwhelming underdog beat the 7th ranked team in college football. Now, James Franklin's seat and ass is on 🔥. The Detroit Tigers completed a baseball miracle by losing the AL Central title to the Cleveland Guardians and knocking them out in the MLB Wild Card round. What a story. Does anyone know that the WNBA Finals are being played? Thanks again for listening and enjoy the rest of your Sports Weekend. We will be back next week with Episode 287.

We are back from a week off, to celebrate mom and her birthday. Donte GURU is in the house to predict this week's NFL picks. The MLB season ends today with some races still undecided. Who's going to win the WNBA title? Will Penn State EVER win a meaningful game? And we had to say goodbye to three people from the sports and entertainment world. Thanks for listening and enjoy the rest of your Sports Weekend. We will be back next week with Episode 286.

The GURU has started his special guest series with the one and only, OThaGreat. A powerful, smart, real brother that does not sugarcoat NOTHING! This conversation needed to happen because of some of the things in our society isn't right! I'm very thankful, grateful, and glad to have him on this podcast for his thoughts and opinions. We do need a check of reality from time to time to keep it real and to keep it moving forward. I want to thank O, for the conversation and his NFL PICKS OF THE WEEK. This was a very powerful episode, and thanks again for your time O. Thank you again for listening and enjoy the rest of your Sports Weekend. We will be back next week with Episode 285.

This week, we lost three giants in the sports world. Davey Johnson, the leader of the New York Mets championship team in 1986 and a Baltimore Orioles favorite. Ken Dryden, the goaltender for the Montreal Canadians, and Hall Of Fame Basketball coach George Raveling. Rest in peace gentlemen, gone but not forgotten. Today, THE NFL IS BACK! The season kicked off with Spitgate! As the Eagles beat the Cowboys. The GURU has made his predictions for the season and this week's NFL picks of the week. On September 6, 1995, Cal Ripken broke Lou Gehrig's record for most consecutive games played. 30 years later, the Baltimore Orioles will be remembered for the greatest comeback in the team's history. What a great game. We will be back next week with Episode 284. Enjoy the first day of the NFL SEASON! WE FINALLY MADE IT! See you next weekend.
