Gutter Trash

It’s a small one. That’s what she said.

This week on an abrupt episode of Gutter Trash, we review Peter Bagge’s Other Lives. And that’s pretty much it. There’s some other stuff, nothing really significant to write about.

Dedicated to Barry Hobart, a.k.a. Dr. Creep.

This week on a Gutter Trash that tried its hardest to bring back some show notes, we review Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Val Kilmer. Nwaaaah is back, baby! We also talk about Jason’s mullet adventure, the Gem City Comic Con, SPACE, the disappearing Jim Valentino, John Byrne’s Next Men, Hellboy, HAMVention, sexist barbers and the flying Doolittles.

Big time surprises!

This week on a super-special episode of Gutter Trash, we review Jeff Lemire’s Vertigo series Sweet Tooth. We discuss karaoke and Wrestlemania, and I confess my sins. There’s not much else to say that’ll give away the surprise, but trust me, it’s a doozy. You’ll love it.

It’s Time to PANIC, folks!

A special announcement about a fun new project Jason and I are involved with. Listen to this, and then head on over to the brand spankin’ new Ok, PANIC! website.

Recorded on March 21, 2010.

A grueling exercise in endurance.

We did it! We broke 90 minutes and did it with no music break! To be fair, we didn’t just review a movie, we reviewed 16 hours of Joss Whedon’s television and film epic called Serenity. This episode is also twice as filthy and inappropriate as I had hoped Episode 69 was going to be. We discuss fake high schools, Iron Maiden’s history, hot young tail, the curse of Sammy Hagar, local bands, Pat Kain, and are surprised to discover that TV is actually good.

Episode 70: Serenity

How YOU doin’?

On a very very special episode of Gutter Trash, we review Batman – The Cat and The Bat by Fabian Nicieza and Kevin Maguire. No matter how emphatically he denies it, Jason loved this comic. The maturity level hits an all-time low, the gay factor hits an all-time high and the awkwardness is about even. I venture into dark territories of geekdom as Jason and I play “Magic: The Gathering”, but hopefully gain back our cred as we rush out the door to watch “Black Dynamite”.

Episode 69: Batman – The Cat and The Bat

Music by Legbone, Black Wolf Fight and Q-Tip.

While editing the show, I discovered a weird noise at the end of the first segment. Presented here is that audio, first as recorded at normal volume, followed by an amplified version, and then the questionable part isolated. Jason speaks first, followed by my muttering, and then the creepy part.

Ghost? Gas? We did eat burritos. You tell me.

Seriously, if I had a beard like that, I’d never leave the house.

This week on a haunted episode of Gutter Trash, we review Below, starring Zach Galifianakis and written by Darren Aronofsky. That’s a lot of letters. We also talk about tattoos (again), discount club cards, Bon Jovi, caffeine, and Jason’s special Gay Day. We try word association movie reviews, admire hobos and graffiti, and plan a Maverick’s Heist.

Episode 68: Below
