Mike 1 has hailed this film as one of his all time favorites, and we produced perhaps one of our more researched and detailed episodes to date. We have all kinds of behind the scenes nuggets from multiple sources on the web, DVD commentaries & special features, and the documentary ‘Halloween 1978: The Inside Story.’ There are anecdotes from our childhoods, mask making endeavors not unlike what happened on the actual set in 78.’ We also break this movie down more thoroughly than we’ve tackled any other film as we go scene by horrifying scene to analyze both the artistic flare & technique that only a John Carpenter could showcase, but also the storytelling fundamentals on display.

If you’re new to MMO, want to refer a friend to our show and you’ve seen this film (since we are full spoilers from the jump), then this is an episode we’d highly recommend you try. We already reviewed Halloween III: Season of the Witch in episode 106, and after covering the awesomely bad spectacle perhaps one of our crazier deep dives, we’re now fully on the hunt and in the terrifying POV of the franchise stars, Michael Myers and Laurie Strode. Our next show will cover Halloween II and H20 to continue this Laurie & Michael storyline. Then we’ll charge onward through the series taking 2 films per episode until we build up to this year’s Halloween 2018 movie event on October 19th.
