Yesterday, Education Minister Stephen Lecce said school boards will be allowed to access $500 million of their own reserve funds to achieve physical distancing in classrooms. The government also plans to spend $50 million to update school ventilation systems, and $18 million to hire principals and support staff to administer online learning. Tensions have been escalating between the government and teachers’ unions, along with concern, as we head toward the start of the school year and a return to classrooms, and there are still concerns.
