Hamsteak Podcast

We’re back! Still reading Homestuck, which is still a big, sprawling, free-to-read multimedia comic-esque work of fiction by one Andrew Hussie.

This week we read pages 2411 to 2513 – in which John apparently becomes a man, Rose writes a lovely poem about puppet dong, and a weird, protracted Saw parody begins.

For your reference, entertainment and/or edification:

• The Buster Sword is preposterous
• Sistertime Podcast
• Postgame of Thrones
• Twin Peaks Rewatch Podcast

Next week: we read pages 2514 to 2659, in which John learns alchemy (for real this time, I checked), WV messes with some big weird science, and we reach the end of Act 2!

Ask us questions, if you want to! Reach out on Tumblr or [email protected] or Twitter!
You can follow Alex and Lydia, too, if you like jokes or the joke that is Lydia’s personal life, respectively. (Guess which one of us writes the shownotes.)

Intro music: “Showtime (Original Mix)” – Malcolm Brown
Outro music: “Showtime (Piano Refrain)” – Malcolm Brown, arranged and performed by Kevin Regamey
Both from Homestuck Vol 1-4, listen and purchase on Bandcamp!

Thank you Andrew Hussie!

This is Episode 5 of the Hamsteak Podcast! We read and talk about Homestuck, a webcomic by Andrew Hussie, which you can read for free at www.mspaintadventures.com. (This one’s a little late – thanks for your patience!)

This week we read pages 2306 to 2410 – in which we first meet Lil’ Cal (yikes), find out where where John and his house went (kind of), and finally learn the point of the game… almost.

Other stuff from the ep:

• End of Ze World, an ancient treasure from the pre-Youtube Dark Ages
• What if Bro and Dave were horrifying quasi-vaporwave memes?
• The MSPA Wiki, a great reference if you’re re-reading or really enjoy spoilers for some reason

Next week: we read pages to 2411 to 2513 – where John learns alchemy, WV gets company, and we finally meet the lovely, mysteriously prescient young lady behind the the alias GG. First page is here: http://mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002411

This week we read pages 2209 to 2305 – in which we finally meet TG, and the atrocity of a comic he’s created. And we answer our very first listener question!

Other stuff from the ep:

• Aphrodite x Hephaestus OTP, fatally skewered by Wikipedia, always canon in Lydia’s heart.
• Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff #1 (introduced on page 2226)
• The Lalonde Refrigerator Arms Race (begins page 2265)

Next week: we read pages 2306 to 2410 – in which Rose defiles a tomb, Dave snoops on his Bro, and Wayward Vagabond attempts to learn some goddamned manners.(http://mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=002306)
