On March 18, 2022 at Western High, a peaceful walk-out in response to the “Don’t Say Gay” bill turned into a riot fueled by homophobia and racism, as students that were FOR the bill fought against the walk-out. This event was a very traumatic experience for me, as I, a Black gay person, stood there and realized that many people at my school saw ME as a threat to their community. This is my story.
