Happy Thanksgiving!

Listen Later

The theme this week on the Retirement Quick Tips Podcast is: Can Gratitude Help You Make Better Money Decisions?

Today, of course, is Thanksgiving, so if you’re listening today I want to express my gratitude to you for spending a few minutes with me on this holiday that’s all about gratitude. This week and especially today, it’s a day to slow down, reflect on what matters most, and express our gratitude for all of our blessings.

I’ve really come to appreciate Thanksgiving more and more as I get older, so today, I want to take a few minutes to list all the many things I’m thankful for, in hopes that it inspires you to be more grateful today and open your heart to the abundance of blessings that we all have - no matter what your circumstances.

Since it’s November 25th, I’m sharing with you 25 things I’m grateful for today. Here it goes...I am grateful for:

  1. Being alive and healthy
  2. My husband
  3. My 3 children
  4. My family - especially my parents, my sister, niece & nephew, and my in laws
  5. My amazing employees who make going to work fun
  6. The ability to work with my father, which isn’t something I am always grateful for, but I get to go to work every day with my dad, which is special.
  7. Hosting at our house for thanksgiving, where we recently completed a remodel, so I’m very excited to host family in our home for the holiday
  8. This podcast and each of you who are listening every day
  9. My business and doing work that I truly love
  10. The occasional round of golf when I find time to play
  11. Grandma babysitters and our nanny who provide loving and caring childcare to my children while I’m at work
  12. Living in a free society
  13. Heat in the winter and air conditioning in the summer
  14. Sugar free peppermint coffee creamer
  15. Minimal complications after getting Covid last month
  16. A good italian dry red wine, especially with a good book - probably my favorite activity
  17. My neighbors. Our dryer broke this summer, and I had 2 neighbors who were gracious enough to let me do laundry for our family of 5 at their house for a few weeks. We generate a lot of laundry and it was a sight watching me haul laundry to and fro my neighbors house.
  18. Snuggles with my infant son and bedtime snuggles with my 4 year old
  19. Chatting in the car with my daughter about her day at school
  20. My friends and community at my work, church, & kids school
  21. Living in the beautiful state of Oregon with all of it’s beauty, green, and amazing summers
  22. The ability to work in a hybrid home and office schedule that works well for me and my family.
  23. Lessons I learned these last couple years about dealing with constant frustrations and unknowns with the ever-changing covid restrictions
  24. Money in my bank account and in my retirement accounts
  25. My Catholic faith

That’s it for today. Thanks for listening! My name is Ashley Micciche and this is the Retirement Quick Tips podcast.
