  • When Loving Your Dog Isn’t Always Easy

Have you ever looked at your dog's behavior and wondered if it means you're doing something wrong?

Coco is joined on the couch by Emely, an animal lover and advocate, for an honest family conversation about life with Fender, her energetic English Springer Spaniel. Fender is strong, excitable, vocal, affectionate, incredibly smart, and, as Emely lovingly describes him, a big ball of energy.

She opens up about the moments when Fender's jumping, selective listening, love of the trash, and seemingly endless energy leave her frustrated and questioning herself as his owner. She also shares how comparing Fender to calmer, perfectly behaved dogs on social media can make those doubts even louder.

Together they explore a gentler way of looking at those difficult moments. Rather than treating a dog's behavior as proof that we're failing, what if we viewed it as information about what our individual animal may need–and what may be happening within the relationship we share with them?

They also discuss why dog training isn't one-size-fits-all, how Emely is learning to balance affection with boundaries, and how she has found herself developing greater patience and self-awareness through the experience of caring for Fender.

Because loving someone well doesn't mean never struggling. And a difficult moment in a relationship doesn't have to become a verdict about who we are as a person.

What This May Open Up for You:

    • Why challenging behavior doesn't automatically mean you're failing as a pet parent.
    • How comparison, especially through social media, can make us question the relationship we have with our own animals.
    • Why dog training should reflect the individual dog, your lifestyle, and the behaviors necessary for safety rather than one universal standard.
    • How loving and spoiling our animals can coexist within boundaries and training.
    • Why difficult moments can be treated as information about what your relationship needs rather than evidence of personal failure.
    • A reminder to notice not only what's difficult, but all the beautiful things that already exist within the life you share together.

    About Emely:

Emely, Coco’s youngest son Sho’s girlfriend, joins Coco on the couch for a heartfelt family conversation. She’s mommy to Fender, her boy pup full of energy and joy, and to Enzo, Mavis, and Ozzie, whom she rescued as stray kittens. Together, they share about the tenderness of caring deeply, the challenges of pet parenting, and what it feels like to be loved without needing to be perfect.

    About Coco:

Coco is a certified Animal Naturopath, neonatal kitten specialist, founder of Furbulous Living™, and host of Happy You. • The Little Dog Who Made Us a Pack

What happens when the little dog who has always been your baby decides someone else belongs to her family, too?

Coco welcomes her son Yu, his girlfriend Helen, and their tiny dog Chloe for a heartfelt family conversation about how a two-person relationship became a three-member pack. Helen shares what life was like when it was just her and Chloe, while Yu reflects on the relationship he developed with Chloe after caring for her alone during Helen's two-week trip to Italy.

Over time, Yu went from being another person Chloe enjoyed seeing to someone she trusts for play, food, comfort, and protection, eventually earning the title of official doggy dad. Helen and Yu share the different roles they've developed in Chloe's life and how caring for her together has strengthened their own trust and relationship.

But life with Chloe seems to invite something else, too: moments of slowing down and staying curious. From stopping to smell everything on walks to physically putting their phones away when she wants their attention, Chloe brings Yu and Helen back into the ordinary moments happening right in front of them.

This warm family conversation is a beautiful reminder that knowing someone deeply doesn't mean there is nothing left to discover. Sometimes a new relationship doesn't change who we are—it simply gives another part of us somewhere to emerge.

What This May Open Up for You:

    • Why our animals may develop completely different but equally meaningful relationships with each member of the family.
    • How caring for a beloved animal together can become part of the trust and connection two people build with each other.
    • How welcoming someone new doesn't have to take love away from an existing bond, but rather give love somewhere new to grow.
    • What we may notice when we slow down, put away distractions, and become present for ordinary moments with our animals.
    • Why labels like “she's always been that way” can sometimes stop us from noticing how those we love are growing and changing.
    • How knowing someone by heart can still leave room for curiosity, surprise, and discovery.

    About Yu, Helen & Chloe:

Coco’s son Yu, his girlfriend Helen, and their tiny Chloe join the family conversation about co-parenting, becoming a blended pet family, and the ways their relationship—and their love—continue to expand with Chloe right in the middle of it all.

  • What Does Your Home Feel Like to Your Pet?

If your home could speak, what would it say your fur baby feels most—peace, love, joy, laughter, worry, or safety?

Coco explores the invisible emotional atmosphere our beloved companions experience every day. From comforting scents and familiar family traditions to moments of tension that Mana and her boys (cats) seemed to notice before she did, Coco reflects on how much of life with our animals happens beyond words.

Sometimes a look, a movement, or a quiet pause is enough to understand what the other needs.

This leads Coco to introduce Fur Shui™—a way of thinking about our homes not only through how they look or what fills them, but through how they feel. Instead of asking whether our homes look perfect, Fur Shui™ invites us to notice the emotional weather we create together and consider what it might feel like for our animals to live inside it with us.

Because perhaps the greatest gift we can give our fur babies isn't a perfect home. It's a home that feels like love, a place where they feel safe enough to exhale.

What This May Open Up for You:

    • How your pet may sense shifts in the emotional atmosphere of your home before you consciously recognize them.
    • How years of shared experiences can create a powerful, nonverbal attunement between you and your beloved companion.
    • How illness, grief, loneliness, healing, and other invisible experiences can shape what we bring into our homes.
    • What Furshui can teach us about paying attention to the emotional weather our animals experience every day.
    • Why gentle voices, deep breaths, kindness, laughter, and presence may matter more than creating the perfect physical environment.
    • A reminder that our animals may notice parts of us long before we learn to notice them ourselves.

  • Are You Too Attached to Your Pet?

What if you stopped apologizing for how deeply you love your pet?

Coco explores why so many of us soften, joke about, or explain away the extraordinary bond we share with our beloved animals. Through the story of cancelling a long-awaited trip to Greece to care for a tiny, sick Hoku and the everyday rhythms of love she shares with Mana, Coco reflects on the comfort, safety, belonging, and beautiful routines that can grow between two lives.

She also considers why our culture’s admiration for independence can sometimes make deep attachment feel like something we need to defend. But being deeply attached to your pet does not have to mean losing yourself. Sometimes attachment is simply the quiet way two lives become beautifully woven together.

Drawing from something her therapist shared after the loss of her son, Coco reflects on the relationship between profound love and profound grief, and the permission we can give ourselves to stop measuring or minimizing either one.

This tender episode is an invitation to celebrate the love you share with your precious companion without explanation, embarrassment, or apology.

What This May Open Up for You:

    • Why do we sometimes minimize or joke about how deeply attached we are to our animals?
    • What if deep attachment to your pet can exist alongside strength, independence, and a full life of your own.
    • Why the routines, sounds, moods, and little rituals you share can become their own beautiful love language.
    • Why the possibility of grief does not make deep love something we need to fear or make smaller.
    • What might change if you gave yourself permission to simply celebrate how much your furbaby means to you.

  • Are Our Pets Really Our Greatest Teachers?

What if our animals were never meant to be our teachers at all?

Coco explores a gentler way of understanding the human-animal bond and the emotional connection we share with our pets. Through stories of Mana, Sora, Hoku, and Haru-chan, she reflects on the subtle ways our animals may respond to our moods, presence, routines, and emotional shifts, often before we say a word.

Along the way, Coco introduces Furotional Intelligence™, an awareness of the invisible emotional current that can shape both pet emotional wellness and the life we experience together. Rather than asking what our animals are here to teach us, she wonders what changes when we begin noticing what we are feeling, sharing, and experiencing side by side.

This tender reflection offers a different way to think about our relationship with animals, one that lets them simply be themselves while inviting us to notice the ordinary, extraordinary life unfolding between us.

What This May Open Up for You:

    • A new way to think about the human-animal bond that focuses less on what our pets teach us and more on what unfolds between us.
    • How your pet may be responding to your emotions, energy, and everyday rhythms in ways that are easy to miss.
    • How Furotional Intelligence™ invites us to notice the emotional connection we share with our beloved companions.
    • Why noticing what you and your pet are experiencing together may deepen your understanding of pet emotional wellness and connection.
    • A gentler way to appreciate who your animal truly is without needing every beautiful moment to become a lesson.

  • Why Your Emotional Well-Being Matters to Your Pet

What if your happiness touches your pet more deeply than you realize?

Coco shares the deeply personal story behind Happy You. Happy Dog. and the moment that changed how she understood the bond between humans and their animals. After the devastating loss of her son, Mana, Hoku, Sora, and Haru stayed close through the grief, offering the kind of quiet presence that asked nothing of her as she slowly found her way back to herself.

As Coco began to feel joy return, she noticed something else changing too. Her animals seemed lighter when she was lighter. That realization became the heart of this show and a new way of seeing the relationship we share with our beloved companions.

This is a tender reflection on grief, presence, healing, and the extraordinary ways our pets walk beside us through both the hardest and most beautiful parts of life.

What This May Open Up for You

    • How your emotional well-being may ripple into the lives of the animals who share your world.
    • Why quiet presence can sometimes offer more comfort than words ever could.
    • What our pets may be reflecting back to us during seasons of grief, change, and healing.
    • How ordinary moments with our animals can hold unexpected meaning when we slow down enough to notice them.
    • A gentler way to think about the human-animal bond, not simply as caregiving, but as a relationship that can shape both lives.
