Guest Pastor Simon Price from Cross and Crown Church in Seattle preaches through Matthew 7:15-20. In this text Jesus warns us that false prophets will come to lead us astray. Yet we need not worry as Jesus shows us how we can know the true from the false prophets. Jesus tells us to consider the fruit of their lives. Can a good tree bear bad fruit or a bad tree bear good fruit? In the same way, false prophets are those the bear bad fruit that leads to destruction.

In Matthew 7:12-14, Jesus begins with a summary statement of the Law and the Prophets which has been called, "the Golden Rule." Here, Jesus tells us to do to others what we would have them do to us. He then lays before us two paths, one which leads to destruction, and one which leads to life, calling us to enter through the narrow gate and walk the path which leads to life.

We continue our series looking into Jesus' instructions on how we are to seek after God. God is our good father who gives good gifts to those who ask, His greatest gift being salvation through His Son Jesus. God is a good father who commands us to pray and pursue Him by asking, seeking and knocking after Him for our good, and ultimately to reflect His glory in the world.
