Asking – Part 2 – Forgive Us Our Debts

Matthew 6:12, 14-15; Ephesians 4:30-32

Jesus teaches us to pray about the wounds we have received as well as the wounds we have inflicted in this petition about forgiveness. Don’t be confused or burdened by the high calling of His instruction here, because Jesus Himself answers our prayer “Forgive Us Our Debts” by the grace of the cross.

At the heart of the Gospel is forgiveness, and this week we find it in the prayer Jesus taught us to pray. To receive forgiveness, live forgiven and offer forgiveness is life altering and challenging. Thankfully in Jesus forgiveness can be something that can work in and through us.

Two Kingdoms In Conflict

As it turns out, there is a war going on. Two kings, along with their kingdoms, are at war with one another and recking havoc in all spheres of life. That war bubbles up to show itself between countries, in the halls of Congress and the halls of our homes, but at its deepest source, this war is between The Big Kingdom of Jesus and The Little Kingdom Of Self.
