Welcome to Hardly Focused, with Acc, Jack and Mike! It’s finally summer in Massachusetts, which can only mean one thing – sweltering humidity. The state is finally open, so that should make for an interesting summer.
Kicking off summer, Acc recently helped celebrate his grandmother’s 91st birthday. Jack asks Acc and Mike if they want to live forever. Jack wants to be able to make it to 2077, so he can point out everything Cyberpunk 2077 got wrong.
We’re Back! A Massachusetts Story.
As of May 29, the commonwealth of Massachusetts is fully open! Jack notes how happy he is to see plastered in store windows less emergency order and mask mandate signs. Unsurprisingly, the most amount of mask-less folks at this point can be found at the local Walmart.
Elsewhere, a quip from Jack about the XFL leads the group to discuss the Washington Football Team. Check out the list of names currently considered for the team; there are some interesting ones in mind.
Finally in this segment, Jack covers how the state of West Virginia is offering incentives for getting the COVID-19 vaccine. Among the incentives include a chance to win guns – for hunting. Whatever it takes to bring down the infection cases, right?
Captain Wacky and the 31st of June
Jack kicks off this segment by featuring audio of Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil attempting – and failing – to sing. Of course, this bodes well for their upcoming reunion tour.
In the world of politics, representative Marjorie “Captain Wacky” Taylor-Greene mailed to the White House a letter full of inaccuracies about the COVID-19 pandemic. The letter requests acknowledgement by a date that doesn’t actually exist – June 31. Acc notes that most Republicans in power will go out of their way to avoid correcting flubs like this.
Meanwhile in the land of sports, Naomi Osaka drops out of the French Open due to mental health concerns. Initially, Osaka was fined for failing to appear for required press conferences. Jack and Mike figure she could have taken the Marshawn Lynch route and just BS’d her conferences.

Wrapping up this installment of Hardly Focused, Jack covers the following stories:
A bakery in Texas experiences an amazing influx in customers, after a Pride Month-focused social media post sparked backlash. Said backlash backfired, leading to an outpouring of support from the community.
“Karen” is no longer a popular name for babies. Mike attempts to find the thing that sparked “Karen” becoming a borderline-derogatory term.
