Part One: Earth, Wind, and Cereal

Jack, Mike, and Nate presenting this installment of Hardly Focused! While still getting used to the show’s new board, Jack mentions that it’s almost the 12-year anniversary of the podcast (April 1, 2009.) This show is almost a teenager.

In this segment, Jack learns that he might be lactose intolerant. He also causes a stir among Mike and Nate by revealing that he refuses to eat cereal without milk. What a heathen!

Part Two: Shrimp Tails, Jensen Karp, and Tiny Penises

Famous person Jensen Karp – aka “Topanga’s husband” – went viral this week. Taking to Twitter after finding alleged shrimp tails in his Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Karp was immediately subject to accusations of inappropriate behavior. Jack notes the oddity of using this particular moment to call out Karp and effectively “cancel” him.

Elsewhere, a study confirms that pollution results in males born with small reproductive organs. Does this mean Jack finally has an excuse?

Part Three: “How To Have Cybersex On The Internet”

In this segment, Jack features for Mike and Nate another fun entry from Found Footage Festival. This clip features a woman from the 90s teaching the basics of cyber sex. Inquiring minds need to know – does this video mix well with the theme song from Doogie Howser, MD?

Part Four: All Gas, No Brakes at Burning Man 2019

The previous segment was so long, it’s split in two! Jack presents to Mike and Nate another installment of All Gas, No Brakes. Host Andrew Callaghan visits the 2019 Burning Man festival, complete with all the types of folks one would expect to find at Burning Man.

It’s time for another rousing edition of The Acc and Jack Show! Jack is the proud owner of a Rode Rodecaster Pro, and he’s “Rode”-testing it during this episode. Enjoy him trying to figure out how to use it during a live recording.

In the first half of this episode, finding inspiration in Danielle Murr’s podcast I’ll Have One of Everything, Jack ponders if he has ADHD. He comes into this episode armed with results from multiple self-assessments, all suggesting he has the attention span of a gnat. On that note, Acc and Jack discuss their reluctance to disclose to their respective doctors ailments, be them physical or mental.

Jack loathes that some are calling these acts “a return to normal,” given the easing of COVID-related restrictions across the country. Acc weighs in with his thoughts on gun control, and what attempts – if any – politicians are making to curb future acts.

Jack, Mike and Nate here for a fun episode of Hardly Focused! It’s Nate’s birthday, and it’s also Pi Day. This episode begins with the group discussing which is better – cake or pie. Per the discussion, it’s ultimately decided that cheesecake is a “bastard pie.”

Meanwhile, a gust of wind outside throws Jack through a loop. Mike notes that the wind in general has been outrageous, especially in the New England area. This leads the group to discuss the movie Twister, and why it’s clearly the greatest film ever made (next to The Terminator, of course.)

In a shocking move, Jack asks Mike what he thinks about Cam Newton re-signing with the New England Patriots. Mike is concerned about the team’s overall defense, given Newton’s “meh” performance last season. Nate just hopes the Patriots slam dunk their way to the World Series.

Part Two: Adult Films and Dollar Bills

This segment kicks off with the group discussing pi, given it being March 14. Nate can recite pi to a surprising number of places. Jack, meanwhile, has difficulty with the basic concept of numbers.

Elsewhere, Jack is upset with PornHub’s current offerings. He believes the pandemic has greatly affected the adult entertainment industry. Unlike mom’s cooking, sometimes homemade just isn’t better!

Rounding out this episode, Jack features for Mike and Nate video from a now-defunct store called Dollar Bill’s Discount World. The video stars Dollar Bill, who clearly huffs something off-camera before showing off his wares. Jack wonders if Dollar Bill’s comments and actions would fly today’s PC environment, while Mike notes that his wife owned knockoff toys from Dollar Bill’s.
