New Orleans actress and teacher, Carly Collis was along the parade route of the Krewe of Muses parade.

Sally Jacobson the Executive director calls it "ShovelFest"! The Red River Zoo is looking for volunteers this Sunday to help get rid of snow from some of the animal enclosures. Enclosures where is not possible to remove the white stuff by machine, and good old elbow grease is needed!

It's a B.Y.O.S. event (bring your own shovel) dress warm!

After a record breaking Giving Hearts day, Jeana Peinovich of Lend-A-Hand Up is back in "Boosting" action.

On Saturday it's the Shannon Neece benefit at the Bowler starting at 4 pm! Part of the entertainment, comedian Fred Bevill gave us 

a rundown of the event!

On Sunday it's the Mike Pytlik benefit at Resolve Behavioral Health from 9:30 to noon. Enjoy a little yoga and breakfast goodies.

On Saturday March 2nd, it's the Lana Eichhorn benefit at Grace Lutheran School on 1025 14th Ave S.

In fact they just issue a $5,000 for KFGO alum Jason Spiess who has been battling cancer.

It's called Ankylosing Spondylitis-an autoimmune disease which causes the body to produce new bone that fuses together and Shannon Neece is battling it.

It's extremely painful and there is no cure. One of her medications costs $6,000 a month.

Needless to say, she and her husband Mike need our help.

There is a whole line up of events at the Bowler Saturday which you can see by checking the poster and the website.

One of the entertainers will be the stand up comedian Fred Bevill who joined us on Nighttime Live to run down the activities for Shannon.

One of the highlights of the event will be Jesse Hughes of the band "Eagles of Death Metal" who will be hosting a jam session during the evening hours.

Mark Greaney has been writing two novels a year, and collaborate Tom Clancy, and they after Clancy died took over writing the Jack Ryan novels.

Mark has had numerous bestsellers with his Gray Man series and we had a chance to talk about the characters, the research of the different plots, the weaponry (Mark owns a number of guns that are in the book) and how to keep it suspenseful from page to page.

And of course we chatted about the great Tom Clancy too.

It's all part of the fundraising event "Claws for a Cause" coming up in March!

We've all seen those little library stations usually in people's front yards. It's where you can exchange a book for you may not have read and replace it with one you have finished reading.

Rebuilding Together, which helps those who may not be able to/or afford home repairs, is reaching out to area contractors to design and build Little Free Libraries. They will go on display at the event and attendees will vote on the best design. The top two vote recipients will then be auctioned off and the one who raised the most money will get a gift card from Lowe's.

All others will be put up for silent auction.

All  libraries are due by March 18th with "Claws for a Cause" set for March 26th at Delta Motels by Marriott
