Welcome back! This week, we're flying straight to The Burrow, the home of the Weasley family. The trio discusses such topics as why the Weasley's are truly so poor, a primer conversation on gender roles in the Harry Potter series, and reference Newt Scamander's seminal work Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them to figure out if a gnome is a beast or a being.

Voter suppression of voters of color and young voters is a scourge our country faces in states across the nation. Georgia’s 2018 elections shone a bright light on the issue with elections that were rife with mismanagement, irregularities, unbelievably long lines and more, exposing both recent and also decades-long actions and inactions by the state to thwart the right to vote. Georgians and Americans are fighting back.

That's right, we crash straight into the topic of Jo working slavery into the series, how does the Ministry of Miss Magic know that underage wizards have performed magic at home, and finish with a brief discussion on the insanity of putting bars on a window (SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING). 

Slavery in the United States didn't simply end in 1965 with the Emancipation Proclamation. Unfortunately, thousands of people are trafficked each year in the United States, either sexually or into forced labor. The Polaris Project seeks to gather research on cases of trafficking in the United States and push institutions to end the practice through legislation or other means. We gab about how much Dumbledore really knew, great villain monologues, and the idea of a narcoleptic Voldemort! He just needs a nap. In two weeks, we'll be going over the film adaptation of this book, and then two weeks after that we are going to start the Chamber of Secrets!

The series, hosted by teen activist Marley Dias, features children's books centered on Black voices and stories as read by Black authors and celebrities. This week, we're going to detention (which won't be the last in this series). We're headed straight into the place Dumbledore reminded us at the beginning was out of bounds - the Forbidden Forest. We'll discuss just where Hogwarts staff sleep (maybe Pince and Pomfrey are roomies), the statistical probability of there being a werewolf threat (spoiler: not very likely), and get deep in the weeds about who exactly is sucking the blood of the unicorn. Plus, we've got a fun game to play: f**k, marry, kill with the three centaurs from this chapter - Ronan, Bane, and Firenze (and the answers may surprise you). 

Adam this week wants to focus on the United States Postal Service as his call to action. It's a government agency that is authorized in the Constitution, with ties all the way back to 1775 with Benjamin Franklin as Postmaster General. They need our help more than ever, so be sure to contact your federal representatives and go to usps.com and buy a book of stamps.
