Psychologists are beginning to realise that an alter ego can empower a person to be a better version of themselves. They refer to this as the “Batman Effect”.
For thousands of years, the Bible has been encouraging Christians to do a similar thing by imitating God and walking in love as Christ did. But there are significant differences.
Ian continues to explore these, concentrating primarily of the practicalities of walking in love as Christ did. These practicalities involve three crucial replacements:
1) anger with forgiveness,
2) theft with giving, and
3) talk that corrodes the fabric of community with words that supply grace.
