On October 27th 2005, in a small French town, there was a clash between police and youth. The incident led to rioting. By the 7th of November, just eleven days later, rioting had spread to 274 towns throughout France. In response to the crisis, the French Government declared a national state of emergency which lasted for three months. Once the dust had finally settled, 2 888 young people had been arrested, 8973 vehicles had been damaged, buildings had been torched, and the cost of the total damage was over 200 million Euros.

This is an example of what can happen when children are not brought up to respect authority.
