Hashtag 59's Podcast is back with Season 4 and there are two simple themes: Switchbacks & Sandwiches!

We dissect and share our story about epic hikes (Switchbacks) and then give the ingredients and recipe for the Sandwiches we eat along the way on the trail (or before or after the Switchback!)

In this episode we discuss three hikes in Alaska's Inside Passage:

1. Rainbird Trail in Ketchikan Alaska

2. Perseverance Trail in Juneau Alaska

3. Forest Trail in Glacier Bay National Park

And with those hikes we talk about the bear spray situation, how wet it was in Juneau, how epic our campsite was in Glacier Bay, and the food we took on these trails during our cycling and Alaska Ferry adventure in the Inside Passage!

In this episode we share several of the day hikes we recently did in Colorado's Rocky Mountain National Park. We climbed mountains, we went to alpine lakes in micro spikes, and toured the many trails of one of Colorado's amazing National Parks.

If you head in 2021 make sure you snag your summer permits at www.recreation.gov. In addition to the hikes we talk about our favorite restaurants in the town and whether or not a bagel is a sandwich!

We bring along a jackfruit sandwich with several ingredients that make it our best sandwich so far in Season 4! In addition to the Backbone Trail we share our favorite side dish to go with this sandwich and FOUR other hiking trails around America ranging from 165 to 326 miles that you could section hike portions of safely during COVID19 (or after it) like we have done on the Backbone Trail.
