Hattie was a big black hen. One morning she looked up and said, “Goodness gracious me! I can see a nose in the bushes!”

And she flew very quickly into a nearby tree.
海蒂说：“我的天哪！我看见灌木丛里有一只鼻子、两只眼睛、两只耳朵、一个身体、四条腿，还有一只尾巴！是狐狸！是狐狸！”
她用最快的速度飞上了近旁的一棵树。

“Oh, no!” said the goose.
“Dear me!” said the pig.
“Oh, dear!” said the sheep.
“Oh, help!” said the horse.
“哦不！”鹅说。
“我的天！”猪说。
“哦天呐！”羊说。
“哦救命！”马说。

But the cow said, “MOO!”
so loudly that the fox was frightened and ran away.
只有牛叫了一声：“哞！”声音很大，狐狸被吓跑了。

And they were all so surprised that none of them said anything for a very long time.
大家都吓坏了，久久说不出一个字来。
