Welcome back to the Bentonville Film Festival! This time we're bringing you a fun conversation with director/writer Prashanth Kamalakanthan and producer Artemis Shaw from the film Have a Nice Life. This is a rode trip film involving a stoner musician, and an Indian housewife (played by Prashanth's mom!). We get into the importance of representation, the sweaty days on set (shot in North Carolina in the middle of summer), and their family dinners at the end of the day. Prashanth shares what it was like to shoot in his hometown, and his decision to hide the scripts from his mom. Artemis shares how she got involved in the film and how she ended up singing the film's theme song. It's conversations like this that remind us why it's so important to support independent film.
