To date, five woman have come forward with claims of sexual assault and sexual misconduct by former California Representative Eric Swalwell, most recently one being Lonna Drewes, who claims to have been drugged and raped by Swalwell in 2018.  Chris Hansen has a seat with Drewes’ attorney Lisa Bloom to provide insight into her client, the accusations and the criminal charges they have filed.  The once leading Democratic favorite in the California Gubernatorial race has since withdrawn his campaign as Bloom reveals that more possible victims have come forward with allegations against Swalwell, claims they are actively investigating.

Henry Lopez is an alleged predator caught in a Blount County, Alabama investigation. He came to the sting house with Garson Lopez.  Henry is originally from Guatemala. At the time of the sting, he was living in the United States illegally for the past year. He had at least one child.  Garson was the one to communicate with the decoy over the phone, rather than Henry. He reached out to a decoy posing as the aunt to a fifteen-year-old girl, selling the girl for sex. After learning of the girl's age, Garson asked for pictures of both decoys. He further asked what the rate would be if he and Henry both wanted sex. The decoy told him $300 for both of the Lopezes to have sex. Henry arrived to the sting house first, followed by Garson. He and the decoys stood awkwardly in the kitchen of the sting house because they were not able to communicate well. Garson called for Henry to step out of the house, which he did. After asking if two men were acceptable to the decoys, Henry and Garson left toward their car. Deputies then took them into custody.  Then it was time to meet Chris.

As Chris Hansen continues to spread the word and educate parents on the dangers that social media and gaming platforms could have to children, a recent landmark verdict against these big tech companies might just be shifting the narrative.  On this episode of Have a Seat with Chris Hansen, Joseph VanZandt, an attorney with the Beasley Allen Law Firm leading the national social media litigation, joins Chris to discuss the recent ruling in favor of his client to the tune of 3 million dollars. The California jury found in favor of “Kaley’s” claims that the compulsive and obsessive use of social media starting as a young child, led to years of depression and anxiety, and that Google and Meta were to pay damages. Hansen and VanZandt hope that this is a step in the right direction of holding these companies responsible and that it is the start of signifiant changes when it comes to the safety of our children on social media.

Joshua Ryan Simpson is an alleged predator that was caught in a Blount County, Alabama investigation. He is known for being one of only three men to get completely naked during a Chris Hansen sting.  At the time, he stated that he was a maintenance worker at a chicken plant, fixing the chicken incubation machines, and had been employed there for four weeks. He also had a twelve-year-old daughter, only three years younger than the decoy he came to meet. Simpson had been messaging a decoy run by the Blount County Sheriff's Office who he believed to be a fifteen-year-old girl. When Simpson arrived to the sting house after over an hour drive, he was greeted by the decoy and he gave her the money that he had promised. The decoy also told him that he would have to "make good on [his] deal first." The deal that Simpson had agreed to in the chat was for him to get completely naked as soon as he arrived to the house. Simpson began undressing and asked the decoy if she would also "take something off," but she refused. Simpson then spent about 35 seconds in complete silence slowly taking off his clothes in the kitchen. A thud could be heard, possibly police or the camera crew causing it, which raised Simpson's suspicions, but the decoy attributed it to a smoke detector.  After Simpson was completely naked, Chris walked out stating, "Well you know how to make yourself right at home, don't ya?"
