Meet Jordan:

Based in Saratoga Springs, Utah, Jordan is an atheist turned Christian oil painter, whose artistic voice found form and substance within an unexpected spiritual journey.

Previously working known by the pseudonym J. Art Fox, Jordan initially painted figurative art and wildlife. While these oil paintings on collages were aesthetically pleasing, they lacked narrative direction and conviction, and ultimately left Jordan with an imperative sense of creating art that could convey more emotional depth and meaning.

Then, in 2022, the trajectory of Jordan's life and art took an extraordinary turn. A sequence of life-altering experiences challenged his Darwinian, materialist worldview, and ignited a spiritual transformation, leading to a conviction in the truth of Christ. As his faith deepened, it began to infuse his art, guiding his brush strokes towards a harmonious blend of the personal spiritual journey and biblical narratives.

Today, Jordan’s mission is driven by an unwavering clarity: to inspire faith in Christ through art that masterfully blends Christian teaching with the oil painting tradition. He aspires to create work that resonates deeply, sparking spiritual curiosity, and inviting others onto their own transformative journey towards Christ.

Meet Lovetta:

Lovetta Reyes-Cairo is a Utah-based figurative artist whose work explores motherhood, spirituality, healing, and enduring love. Raised in an artistic family, she developed a deep appreciation for beauty and creative expression early in life, but it was through personal loss and motherhood that her art took on deeper meaning.

After the death of her first two sons in infancy, painting became a sacred space for processing grief and seeking hope. Her work often begins as a feeling or written phrase before evolving into carefully composed, thoughtfully developed paintings that can take months—or even years—to complete. Through intimate portrayals of the human figure, Lovetta captures vulnerability, strength, and quiet faith.

Working from her home studio in Orem, Utah, she creates art that feels both deeply personal and universally understood—grounding viewers in love, light, and the beauty that remains even in life’s hardest seasons.

How Yongsung Kim Quietly Revolutionized Christian Art - Creative Director Scott Usher

In this episode, we break down how Yongsung Kim quietly reshaped the landscape of modern Christian art—and why most people didn’t even realize it was happening.

Raised in the countryside of Korea, Yongsung Kim developed a radically different vision of Jesus Christ. One that stood in stark contrast to the heavy, sorrowful depictions that have dominated Christian art for centuries. Instead of focusing on suffering, his work introduced something unexpected: light, peace, and an intimate, personal connection with Christ.

We explore how this shift didn’t just change aesthetics—it changed how people feel about Christ.

From creating entirely new moments with Jesus rather than recreating biblical scenes, to influencing an entire generation of artists and collectors, this conversation unpacks why Yongsung Kim’s work marks a turning point in Christian visual culture—and what it means for the future of faith-based art.

Meet Yongsung:

Yongsung Kim spent his youth in the beautiful countryside of Korea, and still resides in Korea today. The main theme of his work are primarily Jesus Christ and Christianity. In a world with an increasing culture of violence and darkness, Yongsung Kim wants to shed the light of Jesus Christ to a new generation. Rather than the world’s often heavy and grim depiction of Jesus Christ, Yongsung Kim focuses on a bright, loving, and beautiful idea of Jesus Christ, utilizing portrayals of familiar scenes of nature to help it enter the heart of the observer.
