Emotions ran high on Wednesday's episode of the Hawk Fanatic radio show and podcast as Jess Settles was our guest to talk about the memory and legacy of Chris Street, who was killed in an automobile accident on Jan. 19, 1993 on the outskirts of Iowa City.
Street was midway through his junior season on the Iowa basketball team, and an emerging star as a 6-foot-8 power forward, when he was killed.
Settles was a high school senior and an Iowa recruit when the tragedy happened.
The Big Ten Network will honor Street's legacy by airing an hour-long documentary at approximately 8 p.m. Wednesday to mark 30 years since the tragedy occurred.
