Don Patterson made a rare Friday appearance on the Hawk Fanatic radio show and podcast.

The former Iowa offensive coordinator under Hayden Fry addressed multiple topics, including Saturday's Big Ten Championship game between Oregon and Penn State.

Don also shared his thoughts on the Iowa quarterback situation, and on why he feels offensive coordinator Tim Lester will ultimately succeed in upgrading the quarterback position.

In addition to being a member of Hayden Fry's Iowa coaching staff from 1979 to 1998, Don Patterson was also the head coach for Western Illinois from 1999 to 2009.
