Former Iowa offensive coordinator Don Patterson made his usual in-season appearance on Monday for the Hawk Fanatic radio show and podcast.

He gives his insight on Iowa's 24-14 victory over Utah State in the season opener this past Saturday at Kinnick Stadium, and he looks ahead to this coming Saturday's game at Iowa State.

Don also shares his thoughts on Colorado's victory over Texas Christian University, and on the enormous impact that Deion Sanders has had as the new Colorado head coach.

Don Patterson was a member of Hayden Fry's staff at Iowa from 1979 to 1998 and he also was head coach for Western Illinois from 1999 to 2009.
