Darrin, a Tasmanian football product, made his way to the Hawthorn Football Club via the inaugural 1986 VFL Draft with pick 26. Darrin made an immediate impression in the brown and gold, featuring in 211 games over his ten year career. Darrin was a valuable member of three Hawthorn premiership teams and was a three-time Tasmanian State of Origin captain.
