I had a fascinating conversation with Dr. Russell Kennedy, the @theanxietymd about what anxiety is, how it is rooted and comes from unresolved trauma or an attachment break, how it affects us and affects our marriages and relationships, and most importantly, how we can heal it. He shared his experience dealing with anxiety and trying everything he could with no success until he found the answers and the solutions that he now shares in his award-winning book "Anxiety Rx, A New Prescription for Anxiety Relief From The Doctor Who Created It". You can find and work with Dr. Kennedy at @theanxietymd on social media and on Clubhouse every Monday at 1 pm PST or 3 pm EST or on his website at www.theanxietymd.com. I had the joy of having a conversation with "sister phoenix" Tiffany Harnsongkram from @fromdivorcetodestiny about what it means to be using divorce as a conscious awakening and what conscious divorce coaching means as well as how truly difficult it is to be getting a divorce after been raised in deep Christian values that then bring very strong feelings of wrongdoing, "end of the world", and deep shame in an already hearth breaking traumatic event of divorce. She shared her healing journey and how she rose from the ashes, which included a complete deconstruction of her religious upbringing, a deep dive into inspirational TedTalks, the teachings of mindfulness from Echart Tolle, and the power of our thoughts and the stories that we make up, to discover her new truth, her life purpose, and taking life by the drivers seat. This brought her amazing accomplishments, relationships and a new love in her life and now she is on a mission to guide her coaching and course clients. I had the pleasure of speaking with Michelle Dempsey-Multack about her work in helping support other divorce women, and how this was inspired from her own painful past as the child of divorce, to then being divorced herself. She shared her healing journey that started with self-acceptance, and included the use of three different therapists and journaling and how it truly helped her heal, love herself, find healthy love, and now fuel and drive her work in helping women "Move On" through her social media platforms, Moms Moving On Podcast, her monthly subscription Facebook community, coaching services and her upcoming book "Moms Moving On: Real Life Advice for Conquering Divorce, Co-Parenting Through Conflict, and Becoming Your Best Self". This episode contains information that anyone who is single and dating, or in a relationship should listen to! I had the honor of talking to experienced Dating Coach, Flora Ong from Redo.Love, and discuss how she uses the principles of attachment theory and your attachment styles to increase your awareness in your dating journey and to help her clients successfully understand themselves to make better dating decisions and to start their path towards healing, because the goal is not to date or to be in a relationship, but to find true lasting love. We discussed the attachment styles and how they show up in your romantic relationships. You can find her amazing FREE master-class "Re-Learn to Date Based on Your Attachment Style" available this April 14th and 15th on her website at www.redo.love and on Instagram at @redo.love.
In this episode, I have one of the most valuable conversations because it is information that we can all relate to and immediately bring awareness on why we do the things we do or feel the way we do. I have the pleasure of having an in-depth discussion with licensed psychotherapist and clinical supervisor Christy O'Shoney, about attachment styles, about the research behind them, about what they are and what causes them and how they get manifested in our adult lives. We also discuss the way we can gain awareness of them and start to heal as well as how AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) is and works to regain access to our core relational emotions and teach us how to process these emotions experientially so that we can slowly move from perhaps an anxious or avoidant or disorganized attachment style, to a more secure one. You can find Christy O'Shoney at www.mytherapynyc.com or at www.christyoshoney.com or on Instagram at @mytherapynyc or @christyoshoneytherapy.
According to the ACE (Adverse Childhood Events) Study, 1/5 of Americans suffered abuse as children or until the age of 18. This is approximately 70 MILLION Americans. These numbers are not inconsequential. On this episode, my guest is on a mission to demystify this topic and share all the resources available to heal and thrive from it. I had the privilege to speak with the host of A Trauma Survivor Thriver's Podcast and the editor and chief of the Authentic Insider Magazine, Lorille Binstock, who shared with us her healing journey of how she recovered from suicidal addiation, a bipolar diagnosis by attending a holistic trauma recovery program that included treatment with EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Equestrian Psychotherapy, Neurofeedback, Breathwork amongst others and where she felt like she had experienced a life-changing experience and wishing that everyone had the knowledge and access to this treatment. She shared how trying a combination of IFS (Internal Family Systems) and MDMA Assisted Psychotherapy as she continues to heal encouraging the millions out there to try all the available healing modalities because they work and can too, live without these debilitating and life-threatening conditions and achieve a life of purpose with healing. In this episode, I had a heartfelt conversation with Chief Grief Office™ Barri Grant, about the importance of grief and how necessary it is to be shared, witnessed, heard, and supported for it to heal. We talked about The Memory Circle which she founded as a place to gather, remember, and celebrate those we lost and love to be able to feel, heal and grow together. As a divorce herself, we spoke about the grief of divorce as well and about all the things that we can do to keep the memories of those we lost alive. We end the conversation with ideas on how we can help those who are grieving and be able to support them in their journey. You can find Barry and join The Memory Circle at www.thememorycircle.com, @thememorycircle, and The Memory Circle too on Club House as well.
I had an extremely interesting conversation with experienced psychotherapist and hypnotherapist Janet Philbin about hypnosis, what it is, its history, how it works to access the subconscious, how it works, and how she works to heal them. We discussed how it can help me specifically and how it has the potential to also access past lives as I am getting ready to try it for the first time. We discussed her amazing book "Show Up For Yourself, A Guide for Inner Awareness and Growth" and how it is not a how-to book but a "why now" book.
