Day 2 of Holy Week.
Cursing of the fig tree (Mark 11:12–14; parallel Matt 21:18–19a)
The cleansing of the temple in Mark (Mark 11:15–19)
Jesus’s pattern of teaching in the temple (Luke 19:47–48)
Teachings in the temple: rejection of unbelieving Israel (Mark 11:27–12:12; parallels Matt 21:23–22:15; Luke 20:1–19)
Jesus and the coming hour (John 12:20–36)
Of all the events on this day, it was the withered fig tree that totally spoke to me. Specifically, the role of faith and belief and how that can and will nourish our roots to then grow fruit for the harvest. I've come to realize and realizing that there are two kinds of people walking the earth:
Those that will believe AFTER a miracle and those that will believe BEFORE a miracle.
I've been personally practicing beliefs before a miracle and confirmation from my Heavenly Parents and Savior, Jesus Christ and it is making all the difference in my soul.
I also dive into forgiveness and Christ's reason for us to forgive...that it gives God in Heaven to forgive us. Think of it.....daily forgiveness opens up the windows of heaven to be forgiven. That is the gift worth giving.

Matthew 21
The Lord's triumphal entry into Jerusalem (video)
I have been so excited about celebrating Holy Week in a more intentional way. And for this reason, I'll be posting everyday of Holy Week and share with you my insights and questions you can ask yourself in your own study of the last week of Christ's life on earth.
Initially, I've been approaching Holy Week from, "what did Jesus have to do to fulfill the prophecies and promises made prior to His coming". Then as I began to study Palm Sunday, another question was brought into my awareness by the Spirit: How is Jesus preparing me/us for His crucifixion, death, and resurrection?
I LOVE, LOVE this question because it causes me to read these events and see the relevance for me in my discipleship.\
I hope that you will take the time each day to read about Holy Week.
If you'd like resources as to how to celebrate this week, here are some of my faves:
Come Follow Me - Easter
Holy Week with Dr. Eric Huntsman on Y Religion
Don't Miss This - Holy Week
I love that Christ cares for us enough to prepare for His ascension and what that means for our discipleship .. our CONTINUING discipleship. Unlike Christ's disciples who went back to fishing AFTER his death and resurrection, we don't have to go back to how we operated in our old way of life. We can choose to think, feel, and act differently We can be holier because of Him who is mighty enough to save us.
One aspect of Palm Sunday that I didn't mention was that as Jesus was looking out into Jerusalem, He "wept over it" (Luke 19:41)
He cared so deeply for His people and I KNOW that Christ, as our risen Lord, cares so deeply for you as you are going through rough waters like your separation and divorce. I know that He's wept for you, me, and for so many of our loved ones.

As I was reading Matthew 14 where Peter and the other disciples were battling the storm, I read something that I don't think I ever took the time to understand...and coming to that realization made all the difference in how I see the Savior always bidding us to "Come" when we are in uncertainty and doubt....especially as we do it from a place of honestly seeking confirmation that Jesus is really....well, Jesus.
