Jeri Dye Lynch, president and founder of the Conor Lynch Foundation, became a pedestrian and driver safety advocate in 2010 after her 16-year-old son, Conor, was killed by a distracted 18-year-old, non-licensed, hit-and-run driver that same year, while he was crossing the street in front of Notre Dame High School, his high school, in Sherman Oaks. Ironically, this happened during National Teen Driver Safety Week - something that Jeri had never heard of until then. Since Conor’s untimely death, Jeri has advocated locally, as well as nationally to raise awareness of the dangers of distracted driving and the importance of pedestrian safety and safe streets in general. Jeri continues to do a massive amount of work with so many organizations on a national level including Inclusion Matters, Drive 25 and Keep Kids Alive and has been awarded the CSW Pioneer Woman of the Year.
