  • (English) Episode 134-Hidden Headaches - Unraveling Myofascial Trigger Points in Migraine & tension-type pain

A myofascial trigger point is defined as a hyperirritable spot in skeletal muscle that is associated with a hypersensitive palpable nodule in a taut band.

It has been suggested that myofascial trigger points take part in chronic pain conditions including primary headache disorders.

The aim of this narrative review is to present an overview of the current imaging modalities used for the detection of myofascial trigger points and to review studies of myofascial trigger points in migraine and tension-type headache.

  • (English) Episode 133-Beyond Rest - Unpacking Eccentric Exercise for Achilles Tendinopathy (and why you should keep moving!)

Achilles tendinopathy (AT) is one of the most frequent overuse injuries in the ankle.

The evidence base for its conservative management AT continues to evolve, but there is still a gap in the evidence for the efficacy of any modality of treatment in high-quality studies.

This systematic review and meta-analysis investigated the efficacy of eccentric exercise (EE) in improving pain and function in adult patients with mid-portion Achilles tendinopathy compared to other forms of exercise.

  • (English) Episode 130-Shockwave Therapy for Shoulder Pain - Cutting Through the Controversy to unpack the Evidence

Rotator cuff tendinopathy (RCT) is a widespread musculoskeletal disorder and a primary cause of shoulder pain and limited function.

The resulting pain and limited functionality have a detrimental impact on the overall quality of life.

The purpose of this study was to perform a systematic review of the effects of extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) for RCT.
