  • (French) Episode 23-Maux de Dos chez les Jeunes - La Sédentarité, La Seule Culpable, Ce Que Dit La Science

    Évaluer si le comportement sédentaire constitue un facteur de risque ou un facteur pronostique de la douleur rachidienne chez les enfants et les adolescents.

    Plus précisément, il s’agit d’estimer :

    1. la direction et la force de l’association ;

    2. le risque d’apparition de la douleur rachidienne ;

    3. l’effet sur le pronostic de la douleur rachidienne.

  • (English) Episode 22-Beyond the Body - The Mind's Critical Role in Post-Ankle Surgery Sports Comebacks

     While there are several scales for measuring patients’ outcomes after chronic ankle instability (CAI) surgery, a study comparing the predictive ability of these scores with regard to return to sports (RTS) at the preinjury level is lacking.

    The purpose of this study was to compare the Ankle Ligament Reconstruction–Return to Sport After Injury (ALR-RSI), American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS), and Karlsson scores in predicting 2-year RTS outcomes after arthroscopic treatment of CAI.

    It was hypothesized that ALR-RSI would be superior in predicting 2-year RTS outcomes after CAI surgery and that a quantifiable increase in this score would significantly improve RTS outcomes.

  • (English) Episode 21-Beyond the Calendar - How the Ankle-GO Score Revolutionizes Return-to-Sport After Ankle Surgery

     Chronic ankle instability (CAI) develops in 20% to 40% of patients after ankle sprains because of inappropriate management or a premature return to sports (RTS).

    Patients become candidates for surgery when nonoperative treatment fails.

    The results of arthroscopic lateral ligament reconstruction have been shown to be excellent. However, there is no consensus on the RTS criteria in these cases.

    The Ankle-GO score, which has been validated in lateral ankle sprains, is an evidence-based protocol for RTS.

  • (English) Episode 20-Beyond the Brace - How Psychological Readiness Transforms Ankle Sprain Recovery

    Although multiple scales exist to evaluate psychological readiness before returning to sport post‐lateral ankle sprain (LAS), no score has been validated specifically for LAS or chronic ankle instability.

    The main aim of the study is to evaluate the validity and reproducibility of the ankle ligament reconstruction‐return to sport injury (ALR‐RSI) scale in assessing psychological readiness after LAS and its ability to identify patients who can return to their preinjury level.
