The fate of the future of American health care hangs in the Senate, but the House-passed American Health Care Act may be one step closer to getting supplements included in health savings accounts (HSA) and/or flexible spending accounts (FSA). Jay Hawkins, partner, Alpine Group, noted that the new health care bill overrides the provision in the Affordable Care Act (a.k.a., Obamacare) that removed over the counter (OTC) products from eligible HAS/FSA purchases.
