Hey everyone. We have a very special episode today. It’s an old episode from back when we still went by SacTown’s Local Lics. This episode is an interview with Sacramento band, The Soul Shine Band. We are sharing this again because we just found out yesterday that the frontman, Jeff Lockwood, passed away yesterday, May 29th. Jeff was a great talent and such a warm spot in the local music scene here in NorCal. We don’t have any details on his passing beyond the fact that he passed surrounded by family and loved ones. Please take a listen to the episode and enjoy listening to Jeff and his bandmates during a time when they were very excited about the things they were getting into.

Rest in Peace, Jeff. You will certainly be missed by the crew at Hear & Now, along with so many others.

I had the good fortune of sitting down with my buddy Keegan, from Rockstar Dreams, tonight. Keegan and I met at 2016’s Aftershock Festival, where he interviewed me (I’ll never really know why, hahaha). Keegan and his crew are doing big things, not only in their hometown of San Francisco but all over the world at this point. Alright gang. This is it. Our fifth and final interview from Aftershock. This one was a blast because we got to return to a recent guest of ours, Some Fear None. The fourth in our series of interviews from this year’s Aftershock is with the incredibly talented Alex Estrada, front man for LA’s Silver Snakes. These guys put on a killer show during day 2 of the festival, Shane kept hearing their name listed among the bands that fans were raving about. We’ve got another fantastic interview from Aftershock. Shane got to chat with some of the guys from The Mendenhall Experiment and you guys have got to hear their story. Episode 33 is special. We got to sit in studio with some of the guys from Flying Cowboy and The Wild Horses. When we say in studio, we mean their own studio. It was really cool and kind of nice to let someone else drive the controls for an episode. This is a really interesting conversation with musicians that have done and are doing a lot of things. These guys have a lot of irons in the stove so definitely be on the lookout for what they’ve got coming in the future.

Lee also brings some really heavy metal with a sample from the band, Burnt by The Sun, while Shane shifts gears to the pop realm with the Mike D remix of Warpaint‘s new track, “New Song.” We’re sure you guys are gonna dig this episode.
