  • The Hill Difficulty: Christian Loses His Roll
Thinking again of what he had heard from the men, he felt in his bosom for his roll, that he might read therein, and be comforted; but he felt, and found it not. Then was Christian in great distress, and knew not what to do; for he wanted that which used to relieve him, and that which should have been his pass into the Celestial City. Here, therefore, he begun to be much perplexed, and knew not what to do. At last he bethought himself that he had slept in the arbour that is on the side of the hill; and, falling down upon his knees, he asked God's forgiveness for that his foolish act, and then went back to look for his roll. But all the way he went back, who can sufficiently set forth the sorrow of Christian's heart? Sometimes he sighed, sometimes he wept, and oftentimes he chid himself for being so foolish to fall asleep in that place, which was erected only for a little refreshment for his weariness.

  • Coming Home
Coming Home Luke 15:11–32; Acts 14:21–28; Zechariah 1:1–6 This message explores three distinct reasons for coming home, revealing how God's grace works in us, through us, and continues to call us back to Himself. Through these three scenes, we discover that coming home is much more than returning to a familiar place. It's an opportunity to testify of God's faithfulness, celebrate His transforming work, and examine whether our hearts are truly abiding in Him. First, we come home to tell what God has done in us. In Luke 15, the prodigal son leaves his father's house believing he knows a better way to live. After wasting his inheritance and experiencing the emptiness of life apart from his father, he comes to himself, acknowledges his sin, and returns home. Rather than condemnation, he encounters compassion, forgiveness, and restoration. His homecoming illustrates the transforming grace of God, reminding us that repentance brings us back to the Father and gives us a testimony worth celebrating. Second, we come home to tell what God has done through us. In Acts 14, Paul and Barnabas return to their sending fellowship and report everything God accomplished through their missionary journey. Despite opposition, suffering, and rejection, they remained faithful to their calling to reach the lost, reinforce disciples, and refresh the family of God. Their example reveals the heart of kingdom-minded servants: a devotion without limits, diligence undeterred by rejection, duty independent of praise, delight unaffected by inconvenience, determination not dependent upon affirmation, and a gospel declaration unchanged by the times. Their homecoming was an opportunity to glorify God fo

  • Christless Nationalists Send Samuel Sey to Hell, Mormonism Cannot Survive Dan McClell
Probably should have gone back to Dositheos, but covered two other topics instead, looking at the wild actions of the Christless Nationalists first, and then looking at Dan McClellan's statement that "the Jesus of the Gospels" was a false prophet, and how the kind of critical scholarship he represents is eating the very heart out of Mormonism (and every other religion it infects).

  • Acts 13.1-12 - Paul and Barnabas
This sermon examines the beginning of the first missionary journey of Paul and Barnabas as recorded in Acts 13, highlighting their divine commissioning by the Holy Spirit. The teaching contrasts the boldness of the apostles with the opposition of Elymas the sorcerer, emphasizing the spiritual danger of false prophets and the necessity of submitting to God's authority over human tradition. It further explores the departure of John Mark, using his example to warn against quitting service to God, while noting the eventual reconciliation and restoration of Mark in Paul's later ministry. The message concludes by affirming the power of the Gospel to convert hearts, such as that of Sergius Paulus, despite the presence of spiritual opposition and human weakness.

  • Behind the Scenes in NYC
Dr. Bill Jones answers a common question about how his time is spent in New York City when he is not leading chapel services or hosting a mission team. He describes spending eight hours with his wife cleaning and power washing the church basement, where the Covenant Mercy Mission runs its food distribution, and patching holes in the mortar and sealing cracks on the west-facing side of the building in hopes of painting it in the spring. This behind-the-scenes work shows that maintaining the facility God has provided is a vital part of sustaining the chapels, food distribution, and spiritual outreach in the city. The account reminds listeners that faithful ministry includes humble, practical labor carried out in dependence on the strength God supplies. The episode closes with a request for prayer for both the spiritual outreach and the upkeep of the building God has given the ministry.

  • From Andrew Murray's 'Humility'
This devotion explores the true nature of humility as defined by Andrew Murray, emphasizing that it is not merely self-depreciation but a profound recognition of one's nothingness in the presence of God. The central message argues that genuine humility eliminates comparison and envy, allowing believers to honor others and serve them joyfully without seeking personal recognition. Drawing from Paul's writings, the text highlights that this spirit is rooted in the character of Christ, who pleased not himself and sought not his own honor. The sermon instructs that such a heart encompasses compassion, kindness, and long-suffering, enabling believers to forgive and forbear one another as Christ forgave. Ultimately, the tone is instructional and pastoral, urging a transformation from self-centeredness to a servant's posture that reflects the gentle spirit of the Lamb of God.

  • When God's Soldiers Forget Who the Enemy Is!
When God's Soldiers Forget Who the Enemy Is!. WE'VE GOT THE ARMOUR—BUT WE'RE FIGHTING EACH OTHER! Eph. 6:10–18 KJV My message tells the story of Christians who have studied God's Word, learned about spiritual warfare, and put on the appearance of soldiers—but have forgotten how to love and protect one another. Christians who know their Bibles and can identify every piece of spiritual Armour. Yet a brother has been neglected for years, and a sister sits in church silently carrying her fears. The enemy doesn't have to defeat a church from the outside but insideGod did not give His church spiritual Armour so Christians could destroy one another. He gave us Armour to withstand the devil, stand firm in the faith, and serve together under Jesus Christ.God has provided His people with the whole Armour of God, but what happens when Christians begin fighting one another instead of standing together against the real enemy? This message challenges believers to examine their hearts, restore broken fellowship, encourage the wounded, and remember that our ultimate spiritual battle is not against flesh and blood.Don't leave your brother on the battlefield. Your brother is not your ultimate enemy. Your sister is not your ultimate enemy. The devil is your enemy, and Jesus Christ is your victory! There was a day when every one of us who has been saved was helpless in sin. We could not save ourselves. But Jesus came to rescue us.Above all, it points listeners to Jesus Christ, whose death, burial, and resurrection provide the only way of salvation.Put on the whole Armour of God. Stand firm in His truth. Lift up the wounded. Forgive one another. And stand together for the glory of Jesus Christ!
