Nations consider gold so valuable that they weigh it, verify its purity, record its ownership, and protect it behind enormous security. Yet the Bible tells us about things far more valuable than gold. Our faith is "much more precious than… gold." God's wisdom is better than gold. God's Word is to be desired "more… than much fine gold." And our salvation wasn't purchased with silver or gold, but with "the precious blood of Christ." Jesus therefore commands us not merely to accumulate earthly treasure, but to "lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven." One day every earthly fortune will be left behind. And when God's children enter the New Jerusalem, we will discover that the substance mankind spent centuries fighting to possess is beneath our feet—the street is "pure gold." What earth treasures, Heaven uses for pavement. The greatest treasure isn't gold at all. The greatest treasure is Jesus Christ. So, ask yourself: Where is my treasure—and where is my heart?

The church belongs to Christ, our superior source of wisdom as His people is found in God, and He has graciously given to us all things through the Lord Jesus Christ. THE NUMBERS OF GOD. [When Numbers Become Part of the Message] Psalm 90:12 KJV Does God use numbers to communicate truth in His Word? From the seven days of Creation to the twelve tribes of Israel, the forty years in the wilderness, Daniel's seventy weeks, the 144,000, and the repeated sevens of Revelation, Scripture reveals a God of remarkable order and purpose. In this Bible study, we examine biblical numerics and the fascinating numerical patterns found throughout Scripture. We will also consider the work of nineteenth-century Bible scholar F. W. Grant, the five-fold structure of the Psalms, and the intriguing theory connecting certain Psalm numbers with events in modern Jewish history—including the striking relationship sometimes proposed between Psalm 48 and the establishment of modern Israel in 1948. But an important distinction must always be maintained: a biblical pattern is not automatically a biblical prophecy. We must never force Scripture to fit a numerical theory. However, many people are so desperate they imagine they are being helped by their imaginary God.
