The equation of authenticity to the intensity of emotional outpouring is a fatal mistake committed too often by the new generation. There is the false impression — The most emotionally expressive person is the most pious, holy, genuine, and committed person. That is the worldview of Romanticism. . .and it has infiltrated a great deal of modern religion in the western world.
